How did it feel walking down the aisle?

I've always wondered (and find out next week) what does it feel like to walk down the aisle? What goes through your mind? Did your husband tell you what it was like for him afterwards? Prepare Me!!! lol

At one wedding I officiated, the bride kept her head bowed and her flowers high all the way down the aisle. DON'T DO THAT. Bouquet in front of your belly button and don't look at your feet!

I was very calm which surprised me. I'd been having crying break downs for days where it would just hit me that I was getting married. I held on to my dads arm for dear life (my heels kept getting stuck in the grass and I was afraid I would fall) but all I saw was my DH and his smile. I didn't notice anyone else til after.

Once I laid eyes on Mike, I saw nothing else. He was smiling like I've never seen him smile before and I couldn't wait to get my hand on him. I saw one face walking down the aisle and it was the one face i saw before I could see him. It honestly felt like I was watching from somewhere else.

My husband and I walked down the aisle together holding hands, and it was awesome. I remember getting SO excited each time I noticed someone new. I had spent so long preparing and stressing about the wedding that I didn't think about getting to see so many of my friends. Once we got to the end of the aisle, everyone seemed to disappear. I balled my eyes out the whole ceremony, which I don't think anyone expected me to do (I sure didn't). My high school bestie was sitting in sight, so I may eye contact with her a few times to hold myself together.

    It was awesome.

I'm walking down the aisle by myself. I am lucky in that we've been going to our church for a year or so now, so I'm familiar with the landscape. I just don't want to cry.

It was surreal. I really don't remember having any specific emotion, but the pictures show I was beaming. I don't remember the song playing and I don't even remember walking down the aisle. I know I must have have been nervous, because once I reached DH my legs were shaking.

I was so nervous! My flower girl and ring bearer walked out and I started shaking. My legs were shaking like crazy. As soon as my music started, I started crying, haha. I wasn't even walking or out of the building yet.

I was worried about tripping. I had to navigate a few small stairs right at the beginning of the aisle and I had my bouquet and roses in one hand and a toddler attached to the other. But we made it! My daughter did great, I tried not to ugly cry all the way down the aisle and I focused on DH who had to put his sun glasses on, because he started crying as soon as my music started too. It was really sweet. I just focused on him and moving forward.

There's something pretty freaking awesome when you get that overwhelmed with emotion nearly 10 years into a relationship. It was magical Smiley smile

I don't really remember the walk so much.

I remember getting to the end of the aisle and feeling tears coming, than I noticed the décor and pointed it out to my dad.

I remember standing at the alter and while the officiant was talking, I turned to my man of honor and asked if he had the rings. lol. Than I would stare out to everyone that was there feeling joy and loved. At one point I looked at my husband and seen the tears in his eyes and I smirked thinking, everyone in the party (including husband) had tears, but me. I was just happy the planning and stress was over, and we could go back to our normal life.

Oh and I'm also pretty positive the only way I made it down the aisle even half put together was thanks to the half a bottle of champagne my bridesmaids fed me before the ceremony. We had mimosas while we got ready, they made sure I had a few more than they did. It definitely helped I think!!

I honestly was confused as all hell, because I started walking down at the wrong time. Then I started freaking out cause I knew I was wrong. I was supposed to wait for the music to change, but I felt like it was taking so long and people were staring at me at the back for what felt like forever so I just... went. Then I was really sad cause I realized I had just walked down the aisle and didn't even really look at my husband at all, just over at one of the groomsmen that was back communicating with the organist, trying to figure out what was going on. Something to laugh about now, but also makes me a little sad cause I can't get that moment back.

It is true when people say that everything kind of just disappears when you start that walk. I was nervous as hell but as soon as I could see Matt, everything and everybody around me just blurted out and I was as calm as can be. I cried a little bit walking down the aisle but was way better than I thought I would be. It's a pretty awesome moment. As for his reaction, we didn't do a first look, so he was just beaming and that made me even more excited and calm. :-)

I'm still to walk down that aisle on December 15. I'm already having butterflies in my tummy. I have a very wide smile, I wonder if that smile will be there that day. To make things interesting, I will be singing my way to the aisle . Ooooh no my toes

It was surreal! I was trying to help stable my disabled dad, while looking to see who was all there, while trying not to look at my husband. And then when I finally looked up at him, it was like it was just him and I in the room. Such an incredible moment for the two of us! Wish I could do it all over again!
