How did it happen?

My FH Proposed While We Were In Bed Our On Way To Sleep LOL He Did It So Nonchalantly And Since He Didnt Have A Ring Or Get Down On One Knee It Took Him A Good Hour To Convince Me He Was Serious. On My Birthday He had Our 2 Year Old Bring Me My Ring And Thats How I Knew He Was SERIOUS. I Don't Have A pic Of My Ring But Its Just A Simple Silver Ring With A Diamond

We were planning to move from NC to CO in July 2018. I had to give up my career and friends and family to do this. He was going to propose on a trip to CO in March ‘18 but I didn’t know that. I realized I couldn’t go on the trip bc I had a major work event. Then he told me that’s disappointing bc he was going to propose. So when we took another trip to CO in April I knew he had the ring and I painted my nails and looked cute every day just in case but he didn’t propose. I was devastated bc I’d already waited several years and we have a complicated history. And I wasn’t going to move across the country for a boyfriend. I was very down and considering my options. Then he proposed while I was playing a game on my computer in my pajamas after the trip. He told me he wanted to wait til the summer and do it on a beautiful mountain in CO which would have been nice but I wasn’t moving without a ring and I still feel strongly about that to this day. It’s too bad I don’t have a cute story, but we’re in love and we’re happy and that’s all that matters.

My proposal story: it’s a Friday night at home and I take a shower and I come out of the shower, I start painting my nails and then my husband tells me to come look out the window. Huh? Can it wait... he just keeps saying no come on come on please come look at the window. And so I come look and he has laid out in the yard rose petals and candles spelling out “I love you, marry me?” And I turn around and he’s on his knee and I start crying and say “yes. But I wish you would have proposed when I had pants on” we laugh and he puts the ring on me and then hands me a pair of pants. I didn’t have any pants on 😅😅😅😅 but it’s something we look back on and just laugh about cause it just heightens that memory for us

Your ring is gorgeous! My FH proposed on a family trip to Cancun. We were staying at the Hard Rock and he’d set up a dinner on the beach. The day it was supposed to happen it stormed and the hotel moved our dinner inside. He had this whole musical setup. He wrote his own song and played electric guitar at the end of the meal and had me record it on my phone. I had no idea; I thought he was just living out a rockstar fantasy. He popped the question as a lyric in his song. It was pretty epic.

Proposal Story!

So my FH and I were planning a trip to Greece since he always joked he wouldn't propose to me until I was able to visit his home land (needless to say it was expected). The whole time we were planning our tip I expected to be proposed to in Mykonos since we had planned to get away for a couple nights and enjoy the island. I also expected to be proposed to with his grandmother's ring which is ironically the house we were staying during our time in Athens, it was a beautiful 1950's style wedding ring that I was so excited would be mine.

Our trip to Greece was a very long (about 10 hrs) exhausting trip that had a layover in London. When booking our tickets I was excited to be spending 8 hours in London city to just look around and sight see, but on the actual day of nothing could be further from the truth. The night before our trip I barely slept so while on the plane I took my sleeping pill. When we finally arrived in London I was pissed that I had to wake up and I was in gross travel clothes. My FH even asked if I wanted to change before we went sight seeing (multiple times). I decline and we hopped in a taxi.

In the taxi I kept asking where we were going and he kept playing off saying that we were going to see Big Ben. When our Taxi finally dropped us off it was in front of a huge hotel with security that checked our bags. Then we hopped into an elevator that took us all the way to the top where he had made reservations for us to have tea and breakfast with a beautiful view of London. Half way through our meal the waitress hands me a gift and he began to tell me how much he loves and we both crying, when I opened it up it was the adventure book from UP with a picture from the night we met and the words will you marry me inside! But that wasn't the biggest surprise, the biggest surprise by far was that he had brought me a brand new ring, one that I showed him months before!

It was the best and biggest surprise of my life! (He also asked for the ring back afterwards because he had originally wanted to propose to me at Clos maggiore but it was cutting it too close to our flight time so we then had to rush there so he could propose again!)

p.s. please excuse how severely underdressed I am for a 5 star restaurant

I think your story is still really sweet - we had something similar because I had major anxiety from my recently diagnosed diabetes, and I didn't want to wait too long due to us already living together. Thankfully he understands my anxiety and also wanted to get married lol. In fact, as soon as he proposed he was like "why was I going to wait longer?" Sometimes you don't need a super cute story - the sweet and simple are just as good. Congrats on your story!!!

And I was looking at him like "Uh...no." 😆 Sometimes I do wish we had a bigger proposal, but that's not what matters. What matters is we've gone through two months of quarantine, and we're still going strong. He also supported me a million times over and put up a lot with me figuring out diabetes. The biggest thing is he sticks by your side and is your partner in life.

Our proposal story:


I am a huge Bears and Blackhawks fan, and Chicago has always been my favorite city! I think it has THE MOST beautiful skyline- especially from Navy Pier! Every Winter one of my favoritest things to do is go to Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza. I hadn’t been able to go the prior 2 years and really wanted to take my man there for his 1st time. When we got there, there was nowhere to park (typical Chicago lol) so we ended up having to park on the top level of the Navy Pier parking ramp. Which turned out being the best accident ever, because the view from up there was the best you can get!! We are an awesome seafood dinner at Navy Pier and watched the sun set over the skyline from our table. Then we went to Christkindlmarket and had the best time! Afterward, we went back to Navy Pier. I wanted to ride the big Ferris wheel there, but my boyfriend started acting real strange & kinda nervous. I thought maybe he was having anxiety about riding it because sometimes he gets anxious in closed spaces. He kept saying it was ok, he wanted to ride it, but I could tell he was super nervous- just didn’t know he was super nervous because he was about to propose! He decided to do it right there. But when he went down on one knee, I thought he was about to pass out from anxiety! LOL All I could say was, are you OK?! I didn’t even notice the ring box in his hand! 🤦🏼‍♀️ It took me a few moments to finally realize what was going on. I was so surprised!! When it finally hit me, I could not have been happier, and I could not have chosen a more perfect proposal location! With him down on one knee with the Chicago skyline lit up behind him. It was magical!! ✨

We went to one of the places we went when we first started dating. A state park not too far from us with waterfalls and just beautiful views. On one of the overlooks is where I first told him I loved him ( a few weeks after he told me) and he proposed at the same overlook! It was late October, we were walking around the state park all day and stopped at the overlook before we left and when we got up there he told me to close my eyes and that he had a surprise for me. At this point I thought is he going to propose?? And I opened my eyes with him on one knee and the beautiful ring. I always thought I would know when he was going to propose because I thought maybe he would act different or seem nervous but nope! I didn’t have any idea until it was happening. It was just us, very romantic and just perfect. And now we are getting married this October almost 2 years after the proposal!

My fiance and I had dated for a couple years in high school, but went separate ways after graduating. A couple years later we got back together. For our first date the second time around we went out of town mini golfing, hung out by the lake, and then to the Olive Garden for dinner. Two years later, almost exactly two years later, his sister, her fiance, him and I went mini golfing at the same place, which wasn't a rare occasion. We walked across the street to the lake, and he got down on one knee, in the water, and proposed. I had no idea he was even thinking of proposing, and the ring was a total surprise. After the proposal we went to the Olive Garden. He had told his family and my family about the proposal and they were all waiting for us at the restaurant. He also asked my father for his permission before hand.

Later I found out when he went to the jeweler to pick out a ring, he walked right in and told him he wanted a six prong solitaire diamond- he did his research and knew what he wanted. I was in total shock with the proposal, but I was so so happy- and still am!

My fiance proposed on my birthday 12/12 at our favorite restaurant surrounded by both our families. After dinner when they brought out the birthday cake all the restaurant staff came out to sing and "Will you marry me?" was written on the cake. It was amazing! I cried, everyone cried and the whole restaurant went crazy and cheered. It was one of the best days

He had elaborate plans to do a nice dinner and a walk around the Capitol building on our 2 year anniversary (much like one of our first few dates in November. ) and he was going to have a photographer planted "taking photos" of the Tower Bridge but actually there to capture our moment. He had the ring for months and I was oblivious. I figured hed stat looking for rings like around now and propose in the summer


However in October he started a new job. A really good one that came with mandates of 16 hour shifts that he got hit with his first weekend back to back. I cooked and cleaned multiple times as I was entertaining guests from out of town. But I made sure he was up when he needed to be and had his lunches packed and a clean house to come home too. He said after that weekend he knew he was ready.
We went on a walk along the River near our house while walking the dog and took a moment to enjoy the scenery on one of the mini beach access points and there he popped the question.
