Rob and I actually first met and dated in 1985, when I was barely 15 & he was barely 20. We dated for about 6 months and only broke up because he left for the Navy. We broke up on really good terms, went on to marry and divorce other people, and found each other again a about 6 years ago thanks to Facebook. We were friends first, but when we started dating again we both knew pretty fast.

He came home on a random Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving 2017. He said he picked up my Christmas gift early and wanted to give it to me then. He had me sit in the recliner and close my eyes. When I opened them he was down on one knee, a big deal because it was his bad knee. I can't even recall all the stuff he say because I was shocked. I had no clue it was coming. I do remember him talking about our past dating, and how he felt like it was fate, and he never expected to marry again, neither did I. Poor guy though maybe it was too soon because I just stared at him. I nodded yes finally and hugged him. I know it's not a big romantic proposal, but for me it meant a lot. We're also getting married and having our reception at the community center were we met at all those years ago at a dance!

I got engaged at Disney world. My FH chose a park that not many people propose in at Disney world and because of that the entire park knew we were getting engaged that night! Word gets around I guess Lol. They were so excited for us and the opportunity to make it magical. He planned with the park (I was shopping, he “had to go to the bathroom”) for us to get engaged during the Hollywood studios pre firework show Disney movie magic. We had gone to a dessert party and they chose us to lead everyone to the veiwing area so we would have a prime location with few people. He watched it before we went and chose the perfect time to propose during my two favorite movie scenes. (Beauty and the beast and Mary poppins) The park went all out for us! They let him have a personal photo pass photographer to capture the dark photos, gave us extra fast passes for our trip and we were given gifts from the cast members themselves. As were were walking out we kept getting congratulations from all the cast memebers who had seen the photos. It was magical. We took photos the whole trip to celebrate.

My story is long, lol.
He proposed on NYE inside Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. I knew it was coming. He decided he wanted to ask a little before Thanksgiving I think. I asked to go to Disney for New Years for my Christmas present. He agreed. I unknowingly set my proposal in action, but once he had a plan he unknowingly keep dropping hints like he “could” give me my present before we go to Disney but he would be upset if I made him do it( ie. it had NOTHING to do with being at Disney). He made a reservation to eat in the castle for 4 people even though only 2 of us were going. It’s crazy expensive and we would have had to pay for 4 whether they were there or not (it was the only one he could get. Thank goodness we got it changed). He also told me my present was REALLY expensive but that i would love it. Then he flat out asked me which rings i liked when we got a Christmas flier I. The mail, lol. I know when he asked my parents and when he bought the ring. He’s a terrible liar and bad at keeping secrets from me! Yet he surprised when i told him I knew after he asked.
Anyway. I thought he wasn’t going to be able to wait til dinner to ask. I knew it was biting a hole in his pocket. He would not let me even touch the backpack all day when normally he wants nothing to do with it. When he didn’t ask as soon as we got there I relaxed and enjoyed the day. We did all my favorite things at my favorite place. He even rode the teacups and spinner us really fast! (I love them he hates them!) we finally made it to dinner, we were almost late because of crowds. Then i started getting nervous. He didn’t want to do it in front of people and when there was no place private in the dinning room he started freaking out. He was texting through all of dinner. He was nervous and his cousin was calming him down. He finally “went to the bathroom” before desert and made a plan with that server. She told him when Cinderella was going on break so he could ask downstairs with the photographers, who had a heads up. He insisted we had to take another picture when we came back, even though he HATES pictures, but we had to wait 15 minutes. So we get downstairs and he hands them his phone even though they have a professional camera and my heart was beating like crazy!! All he said was my full name and will you marry me? On one knee of coarse. I didn’t even say yes, lol. I laughed uncontrolably and shook my head. He had to ask again, and again all I did was shake my head, maybe I whispered yes. I couldn’t stop laughing. A nervous/excited laugh. And then the entire waiting area of people waiting to be sat started clapping.
He immediately wanted to change his FB status but I had to call my parents first. Then we watched fireworks and rang in the new year! It was he best!

My FH proposed spur of the moment at a concert in between the 2 main acts. He didn't have the ring yet but I didn't care. It was perfect. He had his arms around me and just said to me "what would you think about getting married" I was like yeah, that could be good. He just kept looking at me and I was like oh it's this the formal asking? And he nodded his head. I said well then of course I'll marry you. He kissed me, we watched the rest of the show and floated home on cloud 9. It wasn't a big showy event but I thought it was perfect. 😍😍

That's exactly how it felt. My late father really liked him too, so that feels great. I got to meet his late parents back then.. We started dating again in April 2017, he moved in a little over 2 months later, and he proposed 7 months later. At least we took a bit of time to be engaged lol The old pics make me smile because I didn't realize it until now, but he and I had nearly the same hairstyle lol

I'm loving all these stories!!!

Mine was on my birthday in June. I normally don't like celebrating my birthday, so he decided to propose on it so I'd have to celebrate it from now on! 😂 He was insistent we go see a movie, he called it a special showing. I'm a HUGE movie buff and always wanted to be a director, so we go see a lot of old movies in theaters. I assumed it would be something like that. He actually got "The Rest Of Our Lives" put up on the marquee with the rest of the movie titles. When he asked the attendant for two tickets to the special showing, she replied with "that'll be one ring please". Then he dropped down. They even printed us movie tickets with our title on it! He had his photographer friend pop out and photograph it. All the movie theater workers knew it was coming and were up against the glass watching us, random people were clapping. It was AMAZING! Funny enough, I had food poisoning that day. I'm just glad I didn't poop my pants on the spot 🤣

Your pics are so cute! My SO asked at disneyworld with his family taking pics of us infront of cinderella's castle he was so nervous he took the wrong hand (in my video you see me switching my hand haha) and he lost his speech and just asked me haha. It was cute!

That was such a creative proposal! Your guy obviously put a lot of thought and planning into it. I love that he incorporated something you love- it shows he really knows you! And love your reaction in the pictures!! My FH said his initial plan was to ask someone there to “take our picture in front of the skyline” then he’d get down on one knee... but he panicked last minute and didn’t do it LOL That’s one of the reasons I chose to go back and do our engagement shoot there. I think it’s adorable he was so nervous, but I really wish I had a pic of the actual proposal!

Every year we go to Ft. Myers FL to see his grandparents. His mom and aunt went down a few days before us so we flew out and met them there. They usually like to take pictures on the beach with the whole family so I didn’t think it was unusual that they wanted to do it again this year. But this year they kept asking my fiancé when he wanted to take them (which I thought was weird since he doesn’t enjoy taking pictures but still didn’t really think too much of it). It kept raining so it was throwing all of their plans off. Once there was a break in the rain at sunset they said it was time for pictures so we went down to the beach and took a couple normal photos of me and my fiancé and then he got on his knee and asked! The beach is my favorite place so it couldn’t have been more perfect! His mom FaceTimed my parents too so they could watch!

My fiancé, Max, and I have been together for 3 1/2 years now. We first met at a mutual friends garage party and became friends for a few months before we decided to date. We live in PA, love the outdoors and do a lot of camping, biking, hiking, and kayaking. A lifetime goal for us is to drive to and camp in every state in the US (so far we have camped & visited 11 states) For my birthday he decided to surprise me with a spontaneous trip to Helen, Georgia. It just so happen a car show was happening that weekend and a few of his friends were there. So the next day we met up with his friends and went on a drive up the mountain to an overlook. It had just stopped raining and the fog was rising over the tree tops. Max’s one friend, who is a photographer, was there and we have been trying to get him to take pictures for us for about 2 years so Max suggested we get pictures. Little did I know that Max already had this planned and as soon as his friend started taking our picture, Max said to me, “ I will love you forever and ever and always” as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (Of course I said YES!!!)

It was the most perfect moment in my life!

Omg your place is exactly where my proposal was. My fh has 2 kids from a previous marriage and we had been dating for 3 and a half years and he felt he had no nice pics of us together so he set up a shoot for us in March. You live in Chicago so you know that it was freezing in March but me and the girls put on our brave face and did the photoshoot to make him happy. There was a point where the photographer said she wanted to take pics of just me and him and as I was primping myself and making sure I didn't look too cold I noticed he was taking entirely too long to come take the pics so as I was turning to chew him out, he was walking to me with the most beautiful ring I ever saw. Him and the photographer had planned it in advance so she captured all of the moments on camera. Best day ever!!!
