It's so funny he threw you off by giving you a smaller gift! My fiance did the same -- with a weighted blanket from Target HAHA. I was so excited about the dang blanket I had no clue it was coming the day of!

I was NOT expecting it at all! We lived in Florida at the time and we were getting ready to go to Disney (we were Passholders at the time) and just before we were about to leave, my now-husband said to sit on the couch because he said he taught our puppy a new trick (who was only like 3 months old at the time). He was in the other room with the puppy, and he told me to call the puppy's name. The puppy came running out of the bedroom and I saw there was something tied around his neck... I felt the bag and could feel a ring in there! My husband came out, got down on one knee, and proposed right then and there in our living room! It was sooo sweet We celebrated all day at all 4 Disney parks that day. I don't have pictures of the actual proposal, but I have a bunch of pictures from Disney that day!

My now-husband and I had an understanding that we were going to get married but didn't put a timeframe on it.

We decided in October to go away for Christmas just the two of us and I kept suggesting warm, tropical locations. DH circled me into Las Vegas, which is a very special place for us.

Our flight out got super delayed and instead of landing at 10 am PT, we ended up landing close to 10 pm PT, or 1 am ET. I was absolutely exhausted but toward the end of the flight, DH kept saying we couldn't let our day go to a total waste, and we should go see the Bellagio fountain show. Looking back, this is when I should have gotten suspicious, as he's really not a fan of the fountains and we've never made it a priority to see them in the past.

We made it to Vegas and our hotel, and I changed into comfy clothes. I wish he had told me to keep my travel dress on or change into something else cute! But regardless, we hopped in an Uber and when I glanced across the backseat at DH, I saw a distinctly square bulge in his pocket and immediately knew.

We caught the last show of the night, and about 30 seconds after it started, he dropped to one knee and popped the question. A group of drunk girls walking by cheered for us. It was very us, very Vegas and very, very fun.

We celebrated with champagne at Caesars Palace and eventually made our way back to our hotel completely exhausted. No photos of the actual moment, but we took some selfies at the Mirage. We look super tired but elated!

I’m not sure if *I* had even realized I had changed my mind! LOL It was something we hadn’t talked about and that I never thought about. He said it was 50/50 in his mind whether I would say yes or no. I had no clue he was planning anything all day. But I did notice a shift in his demeanor about 10-15 mins before he did it. He got super nervous and jittery and kept looking around. I think I asked him three different times if he was OK. There is a huge Ferris wheel at Navy pier, and we were going to write it. He gets super nervous in enclosed spaces, so I thought he was getting anxious about getting in the ferris wheel pod. I kept telling him it’s OK, we don’t have to ride it. But he kept insisting he was fine and we could. I had no idea he was planning to pop the question on the Ferris wheel above the city! He finally got so nervous that he just asked me in front of the ferris wheel. When he got down on one knee, I thought he was having a panic attack! It took me forever to even realize what was happening LOL

View Quoted Comment Nice! We are 5 hrs away from Chicago where we live in Michigan. We are also 5 hours away from Toronto, and we prefer Toronto more than Chicago, but with Toronto not be an option, Chicago it is!
