Hey everyone Smiley smile

My FH and I have only been engaged a short while and I still havent said anything on facebook lol (I'm not a huge facebook user - and yes we have told friends and family). So was just wondering how you all announced it on fb? Did you just simply change your status or include a pic much like what people see on Pinterest?

There are some really cute (without being over the top corny) ideas out there so was just curious to see what everyone else did

Several weeks after our engagement I changed my profile pic to this, just cause it's pretty. And when my aunt mentioned how happy I looked, I made an offhand comment about how it was just after Dave proposed. Kaboom!!! Off it went! Wasn't even a real post. It embarrassed me, because I had no plans to announce anything on FB.

We just changed our status. It was months after we got engaged too. I didn't post pictures of my ring.

FH hired a photographer so we had the whole thing on camera. We posted one of the pictures the day after. This way we got to call all our fam first.

Haha several weeks after we got engaged my mom kept asking "when are you gonna put it on fb?!?!?!" I said "why?? I don't know those people!!" LOL i just don't get on fb much so eventually we just changed our relationship status. Didn't even put a real status and no ring pic because that is nobody's business!! Also I didn't have a proper manicure, I had just painted my nails myself that day LOL I guess that's one good reason to always have your nails done, you never know what might happen!!

My Facebook status still says " In a relationship" and I don't plan on changing it till it's "married" status. Those who should know are aware and less people in my business, the better. Usually a private person and my FH is even more private hence our preference.

The best thing to do is to make sure you make calls and let close friends and family know. Took me all day to do that (after repeating how it happened many times...lol). Then I think a status change on Facebook will suffice after (if you choose to). Congrats!!!!! Happy Planning!!

Took a picture of my ring and said "I will be Mrs. Touchie!" Sooooo many likes! We did call family first even though everyone knew about it but me! ha!

It's pretty funny actually. I didn't know FH was going to change his status when he did. He didn't realize it posts a status update when you change it, instead of just updating in your profile info. Then it notifies the other person so they can confirm. It was a random Monday afternoon a couple of days after we set our date. Our phones blew up with notifications, calls, etc.

I changed my facebook relationship status to engaged and posted a picture of my ring along with a status saying how excited I was.

We talked to close family first, which meant we had to get the friends that already knew because they were there to not mention anytging, which was hard for them. Then we posted the pic of the ring with some sort of cheesy saying.

I actually sent this to some distant and busy family members that I couldn't see in person, but we posted it on facebook after...

A couple of people thought it was a real photo and that we had bought a cake just for this picture hahaha...

We got engaged Friday night and were staying at my parents' at the time, so told them when we got home and called my sister and Grandma too. I saw friends the next day and told them and we waited till after church on Sunday as the people there have seen me grow up and a lot of the families are close so we wanted to tell them in real life first. Then we changed our statuses and included some pictures we took of us after and of my ring (I knew I'd get requests to see it).

Changed our status, that's all it took. I didn't want to do a formal FB announcement, too damn many "friends". You wouldn't believe but some people had the nerve to ask for an invite, as if! Most FB friends are just that FB friends. I'm just saying.

We both put up statuses the following day. We told our close family and friends before and FH's sister and his best friend both wrote Congrats on our walls even though we told them not to, so people kind of figured it out.

FMIL blew it. All of our family was with us when FH proposed, and before I could even think to call the few people who weren't there, I get a notification that I'm tagged in a status, picture, and comments ****face-palm***

Haven't done it yet. I am having a small intimate wedding at the end of the year and I am worried that some family that are not getting invited will throw a complete fit once they find out I am engaged and not inviting them, espically blow my facebook up. I see it happening either way, but at least I can hope it does not get to them until after I say I do.
