How Did You Decide On a Wedding Date?

We are having our wedding at our best friend's hunting camp/cabin out in the woods and he is also officiating. I chose the date 8/20/22 because I wanted an "end of summer" wedding where the woods will still look beautiful. Also, our wedding will be the day before my fiance's son's birthday so it should be easy for him to remember lol.

The venue we picked is more of a restuarant that we are hiring out for the day.
So they only do one wedding a month, we didn’t want extreme whether ie freezing/boiling.

We were looking at May and I am an accountant so I’m into my numbers and the date just had to sound right! I was feeling the 21st May 2022 and I knew that my parents met each other on the 22nd May 1985 so my parents will have met each other that weekend 37 years to the day.
Which to me just sealed the date in my head.

The venue that I fell in love with had already been previously booked for our original due date (August 27, 2022). But since I was so in love with it… we changed our date to the 25th. Which my fiancé mentioned that we would be spending 25 to life together anyways, so it gave it more significance. Even though it sounds like a prison sentence… it really isn’t!!! 🥰🥰🥰

We're doing a Friday Night before Labor Day 9/2/22

I wanted a Friday night so people could have some time to recoup over the weekend, and I didn't want a Saturday since we both come from pretty large Italian families who host Sunday Family Dinner every week. FH's brother got married on a Saturday and going to Sunday Dinner the day after was a struggle for all involved hah so a Friday night gave us a Saturday to recoup and the Friday Before Labor day gave us an additional Monday where we could actually recoup since we will have to attend a Sunday Dinner before going back to work.

I was dying to have a fall wedding, but all the dates I wanted were either taken or someone else in my friends/family group were getting married. The first date that popped in my head was October 2, 2022. I felt like it would be the perfect time for a fall wedding!

My grandparents got married June 1st. June 1st falls on a week day in 2022 so we went with the 18th. So at least we have the same month. Plus usually June isn't to hot

We wanted to get married in May of 2022. After eliminating memorial day weekend that left us with three Saturdays as options. We started touring venues and the venue we selected only had one of those dates remaining and that's how we selected May 14, 2022.

We had our first date on 1/28, and the 28th of each month has become a special day when we wish each other a happy 'month-a-versary' or 'lunaversary.' He proposed in May and we decided we'd get married next spring. When I looked at the calendar, I realized that May 28, 2022 is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend (we want a long weekend so our out of town guests have plenty of travel time), so we looked for venues that had that date available. Initially, we couldn't find anything available for a Saturday evening wedding in our area, so we pivoted to a morning wedding with champagne brunch and mimosa bar, instead. Brunch is our favorite meal, anyway, so it was a no-brainer! And who doesn't love a mimosa bar?!?

15 is our number. We kept telling people after we got engaged we were going to get married on the 15th of some month in 2022. So when we started narrowing down dates 4/15 was a Friday & happens to be the exact date of our first date. So there was really no questions after that! It ends up being Good Friday which for our devout Catholic family members (my mom included) isn’t ideal but we got an amazing deal (it’s still off season at our venue) & again how could we not get married on that date!

Our dating anniversary is 8/13, and when we got engaged, he proposed on my sons birthday because we were also on a family trip, so everyone was there as well. And when we looked at wedding dates, I really wanted it on 8/13 to keep the date the same and it happened to fall on a saturday, on 8/13/22, and it also would have turned out to be our 10 year anniversary so it kind of all just fit together. When we found the venue we both really wanted, they unfortunately only had 8/12 available and other random days and I didn’t just want a random day so we went with 8/12/22 so now we just have a two day celebration!

We were trying to decide on a day that meant something to both of us. We decided to go with our 1 year anniversary, because it was the most special date to us, seeing that we came back together and decided to get married.

I wanted to do a fall theme and I thought September will be perfect. My FH absolutely loves fall so it worked out well lol. Both decided we should wait 3 years because I was already planning my daughter quinceañera. That already taking a lot of planning. Plus it will give us more time to save for our wedding. We’re not getting married until 9/14/2024❤️.
