How did you find your first dance song?

I am going back and forth with Ed Sheeran- "thinking out loud" and more recently "perfect". Who can beat Elvis's "can't help falling -". Though it's way overused it's gorgeous.

This was a tough one for us. Our DJ actually has a section on his site that provides suggestions. We ended it up taking one from that (Everything by Michael Buble).

Eyes on me by Faye Wong. One of our in depth convos on our first date was our love for Final Fantasy and the music. We might get a few raised brows by some people cause we picked a song from a video game but I dont care!

Our first dance song was Why I Love you by Major.

We are playing Happy by Pharrell Williams at the end of the ceremony and encouraging everyone to dance with us back down the aisle

We were initially thinking Ed Sheeran thinking out loud but ended up changing it when we tried practicing. Ended up with a thousand years by Christina Perri. Fit perfectly since we both love twilight

We thought about how happy we are and the immense joy we feel. Being that we love Motown, Overjoyed by Stevie Wonder was an easy choice.

@elayna that's what FH is dancing to with his mom! Because of scrubs, he probably watches the whole series once a year. Lol

For me, it kind of came naturally. Heaven, by Bryan Adams. It's exactly how I feel about him, and I love classic rock.

I always loved Crazy Love by Van Morrison. It was played one night at a bar while out with his friends. He looked at his friend and said, this is going to be our wedding song. Years later, it's the song

I wanted our first dance song to be unique too (as well as my aisle song), so I went in a very different direction.

I am a die-hard fan of anime, romance in particular, so I'm picking songs from my favorite animes to be my/our songs! The reception music will be stuff that everyone else likes, but I want our times to be extra personal and meaningful!

I heard the song we are using on the radio - sirius/xm radio station Coffeehouse. They have a lot of singer/songwriter type of music. I thought...this would make a really nice 1st dance song, so I used Shazam to find out the artist and to save it. Then I googled the lyrics. The song is 'Everything to Me' by Mark Wilkinson. We are having an acoustic guitarist/singer at our wedding, which is how the song was done. Another option was 'Overwhelmed' by Tim McMorris. I had FH listen to both songs - and we both liked the first one best. (easier for him to dance to I think!) So I would suggest listen to the radio, look at song lists and song options posted here - then google the lyrics, play it on youtube and see if it works for you. (there's also a really pretty slow song by Sister Hazel - 'This kind of love'. A fun fast song is 'You're the first, the last, my everything' by Barry White.)

So crazy to see how many people can relate or has interest in the book of love! I had never heard it, but it was one of the first things he ever told me about himself. My favorite song is "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey.. but I felt it was too 'upbeat' and fast for our first dance. So, we are slowing it down to walk down the aisle.
