How did your bridal party get to the venue?

@brd2be, on November 14, 2017 at 6:15 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

Our ceremony and reception are in one location. Most of us will be staying at a hotel about 2 miles away. We have a bus coming to transport guests from the hotel to the venue but we will be doing picture before so bridal party will need to arrive earlier. We are doing a first look so the guys have to take separate transportation a few minutes before the girls leave. With our parents, there is a total of 18 people, 9 on each side. Just wondering how everyone transported their bridal party to the venue? I was thinking of doing uber but I am such a planner and I worry that I can't rely on that. However since we are already paying for the bus for guests I really dont want to also have to rent a separate limo for the bridal party. I know BP could drive themselves but most will be drinking so I don't want them driving home and they cannot leave their cars at the venue overnight (public city lot).

@LB I was thinking about doing that. I am sure they can, but I would still need to get FH to the venue first so we can do the first look. Maybe the BM could drive him or they could uber over together.

Yeah it's be much easier to figure out just FH and one friend ubering than the entire bridal party. I'd def look into how much the extra trip of the bus would be for everyone else Smiley smile

Thanks for the feedback ladies! I might see if the bus can do one earlier trip and then I think we have a groomsman who doesnt drink so maybe have him drive FH to the venue or have them get an uber.

My wedding party and myself will most likely use Uber to get to the venue. I don't see the point of getting a limo when everything is all in one location. I figured I could save some money that way.

I planned on having our shuttle do two seperate trips but because of traffic in the area it was a no go. I had my whole bridal party take the shuttle (both sides) and I went in a private car so H didn't see me. Try that?

We are looking into doing a party bus with 2 runs. Our venue and hotel are only 5 miles apart and we are doing all of our photos before the ceremony. The company we are looking at using said they can pick up the guys earlier and the photographers suggested this as well. They will pick the guys up first let them do their pictures while the bus comes back and gets the girls.

We rented a party bus for us and the wedding party. DH and the WP rode the bus to the ceremony, and my parents drove me. I joined the bus to go to the reception.

I would see if someone could drive you or FH to the location while everyone else rides the shuttle. Perhaps your or FH's parents. If it's only a 2 mile drive, that would give them time to drop you off and return to the hotel to catch the second shuttle run. Or one of you uber there.

We are staying at a hotel within 20 minutes of the venue the night before, just the BM's. We are going to carpool to the venue from the hotel.

The GM will meet at the venue by 1pm that day and who knows what they're doing...
