I didn’t know that weddings had themes. I’m so lost right now. Any advice??

Mine doesn't have a theme. I guess it could be "things Stephanie and Leah like" haha.

It is good to know if you're looking at doing a casual back yard affair or a formal ballroom affair. You're going to probably want things to go together like venue, music, decor, etc. But it doesn't have to be a specific theme.

I agree with Stephanie. There's no need to have a theme unless it helps you to find things that suit the vibe you're going for (ie, it's a lot easier to find decor if you have some search terms like rustic, boho, romantic, etc)

Our wedding doesn't have a theme, but now, only a month or two out, we probably could give you some search terms because we've been planning it so long.

You could do it a traditional style of all white where you use candles, white flowers, white lights, white wedding cake, white dress.https://www.pinterest.com/pin/140878294581762825/

Weddings don't need a theme. Our wedding didn't. The main thing is to just have things look cohesive.

Only a small percent of weddings have themes, and they are most definitely not a requirement. Usually weddings that have themes are chosen because the couple has something they are both really into, a shared common interest, etc. The majority of weddings simply have a color palette and a vibe (ie, classic, modern, boho, rustic, etc.)

Themes are totally optional. One really isn't needed...some people just really like to plan big, themed parties and see a wedding reception as the ultimate opportunity to do that! Just pick colors, flowers, and decor that you both love and makes you feel happy - no theme needed if you don't want one Smiley smile

You don't necessarily need a theme for a wedding Smiley smile I had a rustic feel with a dusty blue colored theme if that counts? But yeah I just incorporated some rustic touches here and there such as the center pieces, our sweet heart table, and had dusty blue colors here and there.

Daughter had a similar reaction when she was repeatedly asked about her wedding "theme"... She just started responding with, "traditional semi-formal wedding -- that's the theme." lol

We don’t a theme. We picked two colors we like that fit the time of year and are picking decorations that kind of go together and fit when we’re getting married but there’s not really a theme

Colors and seasons are a theme, and every wedding has colors minimum even if they don’t focus on other elements. It’s another way of saying vibe, aesthetic, etc. but it has the same meaning. Not all themes/aesthetics are 100% matchy either which is a common misconception. Sit down with fiancé and decide what colors you love and the vision you both have.
