How do i handle this?

Courtney, on February 8, 2020 at 12:59 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
I received three wedding gifts in the mail today that were on my registry, but I do not know who they are from. It doesn't say on the package. The three gifts added together equal over $100 and it is important to me to send thank you notes for my gifts. However, I have no clue where this came from. I looked on my registry and it just says items purchased. How am I suppose to handle this?

Maybe post on social media that you received gifts from your registry with no name?

Yeah I thought of that and posted on FB... I said I received a package, but I don't know where it came from and would like someone to help me solve this mystery so I can thank the sender properly.

There’s really no good way to go about this. We posted on Facebook and said “we received ___ in the mail with no name. We would love to thank whoever sent such a generous gift. If it was you, please text or direct message us.” Obviously this is a know your crowd thing, but 95% of our friends and family are on Facebook so it worked for us.

Can you contact customer service for your registry to find the name of the purchaser?

Contact the store your wedding registry is though. They should be able to tell you who sent it. Or, if you have access to their website and you have a login for the registry, you should be able to see who purchased it. I found it on mine but had to do some digging.

This. Walmart forgets to enclose the name of the sender, very often. Unless it was a cash sale, it is easy for them to check. When they get balky, say, If I don't let the sender know I received the gift, they will stop their charge or payment. Tell me who sent it. Their delivery people mark delivered even when they drop a gift at the wrong place. So senders don't just want tracking. They want to hear, it arrived, undamaged. They usually put on a show of how hard it is. Then look it up if you persist. Did you check inside the box, where Walmart often places the sender card?
