Cheri, I do get where you're coming from, but I don't think saying "the neighbors will have to deal" is a good start. The fact is, if they're unhappy, they will cause trouble--either by calling the police (who can intervene even if there isn't a noise ordinance, if they feel you're disturbing the peace) or by getting involved themselves. I'm surprised that you're expecting to have loud music for eight straight hours? I've been to a lot of weddings and not one of them had THAT much dancing. You can try going and warning them, but I gotta say even someone's wedding would grate on my nerves after 8 hours of thumping bass. Can you not start with softer music? Why does it have to be blaring the whole time?

I've gotten a nice note from neighbors on a number of times. Mostly for graduation parties, etc. If it's a 4th of July party they usually invite me to stop by but for a more personal party I've gotten a simple note that says something to the fact that x-neighbor will be hosting a reception or graduation on __ date at ___time and there will be music and festivities until ___time.

In your letter to the neighbors, I'd ask them if they have any special requests (songs they want to hear) and you'll try to incorporate it in. lmao.
