How do i make decisions?

Katie, on December 4, 2022 at 7:32 PM Posted in Planning 1 2
I am trying to plan a wedding in under a year with not a lot of budget. How do I decide to invite people when I probably can’t really afford to feed them all? Can I just do the wedding and dinner separate and have a dance with everyone else? The problematic family members are the worth the drama they will probably cause?

You have a couple of options; have a mid afternoon ceremony then a cake and punch reception, then have dinner with close family and friends. This is perfectly acceptable. Or, just don’t invite people you don’t want to invite and have a lovely small intimate wedding and do dinner for everyone.

It’s not a great idea to have a “tiered” wedding where some people are only invited to some of it. I’d think about having a small wedding and maybe have a brunch reception or a cake and punch reception at a non-mealtime. In any case, start with budget because that will determine the venue and amount of people you can afford to invite.
