How do you or will you celebrate your 1st anniversary?

Kristen, on January 11, 2021 at 12:44 PM Posted in Married Life 0 29

Hi all. I was discussing this with my friend yesterday and even though my day was magical tropical storm did put a little damper in dining plans. I was thinking to either do something new for our anniversary or kind of a re-do. Visit the same restaurant but sit outdoors weather pending and maybe even stay in the same hotel we stayed the night in and visit their roof top bar. What did you ladies do for your anniversary or what would you want to do?

We went on a little getaway. We spent a long weekend in the mountains visiting breweries, wineries, eating good food, and just spending time together.

Oooooh that sounds good too. Yeah I was kind of wondering should we do something different rather than recreate.

We probably will just go out to eat for lunch or dinner.

Our one year anniversary was this past July so with Covid there wasn't much we could do. We got married 4 hours away in another state so we couldn't exactly go back there. We do have a gift card for a free night's stay that we hope to use at some point. Not entirely sure how it will work because it's only for two and I'm currently expecting. Anyways, we went to dinner (Italian) then got dessert (ice cream). After we got home, we opened the messages in a bottle that we had our guests write for us. Then we watched our wedding video.

My fiance and I will likely either plan a week-long camping trip over our first actual anniversary, or will plan a weekend getaway! Our two-year engagement anniversary is this summer and also what should have been our one-year wedding anniversary, so for that, we're planning on wearing our wedding rings for the day, going out to our favorite restaurant, and visiting a few local wineries/breweries.

Honestly that is probably all we will do lol. I know we want to visit the resort again at some point but may come after our anniversary.

We got takeout from a nice restaurant and ate it at home. We also got an anniversary cake from our wedding cake baker in the same flavor as our wedding cake. Our first anniversary was in June 2020 so our options were limited due to Covid.

We rented a cabin in the mountains for the weekend. It was just what we needed.

I think sometimes the nights in are special. We did our cake tasting with to go because he had COVID at the time and it was fun.

Oddly that is a bucket list item for sure but with some snow. I am wondering if I can get him to do a getaway.

We plan to take a trip! It’s multipurpose; we have family/friends in that area and a wedding to attend that same week.

We had our first anniversary during the pandemic last year and what we did was make dinner at home and look at our wedding album together.

I think we'd do a weekend getaway! We got engaged in Savannah, so staying in the same hotel we did that weekend would be a great option! Eating dinner at the same restaurant too! Either that or renting a small cabin in the mountains. It's nice to have a change of pace and scenery.

We went camping the weekend before and then I broke my knee so we didn't get to do anything super fancy. My husband baked me a vanilla cake with a strawberry cheesecake on top.

Now that we had to cancel our March celebration, we plan on having our Big wedding around our 1 year anniversary (It would be the weekend prior since its on a Wednesday). And we decided that we will take our honeymoon after the "wedding" since we weren't able to take one last year (hopefully by October we will be able to travel safely again)

As of now we are planning our honeymoon for our one year anniversary (stupid corona restrictions pending, of course).

For our One year we took a cruise, it was 2 weeks before the actual anniversary. We had dinner at the restaurant where we had our rehearsal for our actual anniversary.
2 years is this upcoming weekend. We’re probably going to spend the day in Gatlinburg. It’s about 3 hrs from us. So it’ll be a nice day trip.
