How do you wear your rings?

Andrea, on May 16, 2017 at 3:43 PM Posted in Married Life 0 47

Since being married, I've worn my wedding band first, then my engagement ring because my mom told me to wear my wedding band closer to my heart.

They fit just fine that way, but I've been noticing more and more women wearing them the opposite way, engagement ring first, then band.

How do you wear yours, and why?

I plan on wearing my wedding band first with the e-ring on top. I was told the same thing about the wedding band being closer to your heart.

But I have seen it done the other way, so it may just be a personal preference.

I wear mine the same way as you, that's the way I've always been told to wear them and it's what my mom does.

Wedding band first, then e-ring. I don't think there is a wrong way, but wedding band first is more traditional.

"Once you're married, tradition dictates that your engagement band be moved back to the third finger on your left hand. When you do so, your wedding ring should remain closest to your heart (where your spouse placed it on your wedding day) and your engagement ring is placed next to the wedding ring."

Once I'm married I will also wear mine the same way as you. I was always told that wearing your band above your engagement ring signifies that you are a widow.

I wear mine the same way as you. I just happen to think my bands look better that way, plus the whole "closer to the heart" thing.

I will be wearing it engagement ring first and then wedding band. I like it because the engagement ring was first, and the band "seals the deal". Its a personal preference as most of my friends do band and then ering. Here is what mine will be, although i could wear it either way.

Easiest way to solve the dilemma? Get two bands - one to wear on top and the other to wear on bottom! Smiley smile

Mine is a set that will click together but if it weren't I'd wear the band closest to my heart because I love the sentiment behind it

I wear my e ring first, then my band, only because my band is so thin, it practically disappears under my e ring the other way. This way its much more visible, and I love it.

I was originally planning to wear it e-ring, then band because my e-ring is a little loose and my band is a quarter size smaller and I thought it would be more secure that way. When I actually tried them on, I realized that I liked the look of band first, then e-ring. I can see it working both ways. Band first means that it's closer to your heart. Band last to me is like having the promise of marriage represented by your e-ring sealed with your wedding band.

I wear my wedding band first, with the engagement ring on top - how I've always seen them traditionally worn!

I think others will understand that you're married regardless of the order of your rings Smiley smile I do have a friend who wears her wedding band on her left ring finger and her engagement on her right ring finger because her mother wore them that way - she gets a ton of questions about wearing that way and if she's married or not!

I wear mine the same way as you. I haven't seen anyone that wears it the other way around.

I have seen some traditions where women wear their Ering then wedding band for the first year, then switch them. I thought that was kind of neat. But personally will be wearing my wedding band then e ring.

I don't always wear mine, but when I do, I usually wear them on opposite hands. Weird, I know, but I've seen it done more and more recently.
