How far in advance did you have your trials?

I would just go now. I did mine at 8 months because I had to travel during a certain time of year, but even if I were local I think it’s a good idea. You have plenty of time to find someone new or to make adjustments.

Not doing makeup, but I plan on having a hair trial about a month before. All I want is a simple half-up style! If you have a more elaborate hairstyle, I don't see the harm in booking a trial now and see how things go!

I will be doing mine next month which will be 7 months out. My hair is natural so it is goingbto be a process to get it how I want it and I want to make sure it is tge way I want it. Both the stylist and mua I have used before LOVE them dearly and know that they will have me looking perfect but we have to guage the time for my hair that's why I am going sooner rather than later.

I did mine a couple weeks ago at 6 months out. I'm glad because now I'll have time to get hair extensions and try again

I have my makeup trial in about a month and a half--the day we're getting our engagement pictures done.

I'm pretty darn confident in her skills based on her portfolio, so this trial is more for me to just see how she works and get to see how the makeup will show up in photographs. While I won't be doing the same exact look for the engagement photos as I will on my wedding day, I think it'll be okay.

But yeah, I would go sooner rather than later so you have time to work out any issues--or find someone new, if it really doesn't go well. Good luck!

My wedding is on November 23rd. My makeup trial is at the end of September and I’m doing my hair trial for my bridal shower on 10/20.

You need to go as soon as possible. Because if she doesn’t do what you want and then don’t trust her, you’ll need to find someone else. August-December is a super busy time for people in our industry and we book fast! Make sure you stand up for exactly what you want, and if you don’t like it, say it! That being said, if you are already leery of her work, I would find someone else. You should look at her work and want her to do your makeup!

View Quoted Comment That’s crappy. I do hair and make up and I will always go for just one person. Honestly, I would look for people in your area on Instagram! They should go no matter how many people are there. If they “require” a minimum amount of people, I wouldn’t use them... they are just in it for the money. Or you can ask if your mom and MIL wat to get theirs done too.

I had my hair and makeup trial 3 months before my wedding.

Wedding is October 19th and did hair trial this past Saturday and makeup on the 29th.
