How Far In Advance Will Your Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party Be?

Lisa, on June 22, 2021 at 6:09 PM Posted in Parties and Events 2 68
Let's discuss timing for pre-wedding events! Specifically, the bridal shower and bachelorette party. These events are typically hosted 1-3 months before the wedding, though that time frame doesn't always work for everyone, so sometimes they're held sooner or later than that window. How long before your wedding will you have your bridal shower and/or bachelorette party?

I'm skipping a bridal shower because I simply don't need anything and can't justify the event, but my bachelorette will be 6 weeks before the wedding.

I personally did not want to have even more on my plate in the weeks leading up to the wedding than I already will.

My first bridal shower (my mom and dad's mom are each hosting a party so both my sides don't have to mix) is 28 days before my wedding with my bachelorette party being a sleepover at my mom's house afterward. The one my grandma is hosting is 20 days before my wedding.

My hometown shower will be 10 weeks before the wedding (this weekend!!) and current town shower will be 7 weeks. Bachelorette party will be 3 weeks (FH’s bachelor party will be 5 weeks). Dates were all chosen based on VIP attendees’ availabilities / didn’t want any of the events too close to the wedding or back to back weekends.

My shower was three weeks before my wedding. My crowd does destination/weekend bachelorette trips, but because I had destination wedding and a short engagement (4 months), my bachelorette was the Thursday before my Saturday wedding.

My bachelorette party will be the night before the wedding because I want all my girlfriends to join in. They're coming from Michigan, Oregon, Nevada, California, and Illinois and I don't want them to have to fly out twice.

My bachelorette party is 6 weeks beforehand! It seems like a good distance in advance - far enough away that you're not mentally elsewhere, trying to arrange whatever last-minute things are coming up, but not so far away that you forget it even happened by the time the day comes.

My wedding is beginning of October and my FMIL is planning my shower for end of August...of 2023. 😂

She's already trying to plan a buck and doe.

I think it’s better to space them out because I’m 4 weeks out and I have so much to do since my bachelorette is the weekend before 😩. I wish I scheduled that atleast two weeks before.

Not sure if I'm having a bridal shower yet, but my bachelorette will be in September, so about 4 months before our wedding in January. Our first couple's shower is also in September, and our second couple's shower is in October!

Since our wedding is in January, having pre-wedding stuff in November/December wasn't logical since most people will be traveling and doing more spending around those months!
