How long before your wedding will you have your bridal shower and/or bachelorette party?

My wedding was in October. My bach party was in August and our showers were in August & September.

Technicallyy bridal shower was 10 months AFTER our wedding (courthouse wedding big celebration this year) but it was about 2.5 months before our "real wedding". My not really a bachelorette bachelorette party is about a month before my wedding.

3 months is a good time frame! Still not too far out from the wedding, though not too close to where you're too focused on getting last-minute things in place to be able to fully enjoy the celebration.

Totally makes sense why you decided to skip the bridal shower! I agree that having pre-wedding events too close to the wedding can make it kind of hectic with trying to also balance the last-minute tasks. 6 weeks beforehand seems like a good time frame!

Very cool! That seems like ideal spacing between the bridal shower and bachelorette party, and also ideal timing before the wedding.

Not sure about bridal showers yet, but my MOH and I were discussing doing my bachelorette about 6 weeks out and it would overlap with my birthday.

We have family spread out all across the country so doing a wedding shower (groom present) instead of just for me. My bridal shower and my Bachelorette parties are 3 months before the wedding. I would’ve preferred the Bachelorette party to be closer but the dates didn’t work out for my girls who all live in different states.

That timing seems ideal! Did it work out well? Do you have any advice on scheduling pre-wedding events for those who haven't decided on dates for their bridal shower/bachelorette party yet?

Our Wedding Shower, his Bachelor weekend, and my Bachelorette weekend are all in in the same week about 2.5 months before the wedding. Mainly because of timing--both our immediate families mostly live out of state, so if they are going to be in town, we might as well get as much done as possible so they don't have to travel back and forth multiple times!

My bachelorette party was almost two years ahead of my wedding! We decided to postpone the wedding due to COVID a week before my bachelorette party, so we postponed the bachelorette party as well. Are you planning to do a second bachelorette party closer to your wedding?

Those both sound very fun! Good idea to have separate parties. I love that you're planning to do the bachelorette party right after one of the bridal showers!

So due to covid, I was unable to have a bachelorette party or bridal shower before legally getting married. My husband and I had our co-ed weekend planned out with our bridal party but we had to cancel because everything was shut down. We legally got married in October and had to push our wedding back to March 2021 then again to October 2021.

We don't have a care to have a co-ed weekend anymore but my sister and bestfriend (2 MOH) are currently planning a bridal shower for me to happen before our wedding in October. I have no idea of any of the details though lol

So exciting that you have one of your celebrations this weekend!! Enjoy, your wedding will be here before you know it! Makes sense that you took everyone's availability into account, that was very considerate. I also love that you were able to space all the events out by a few weeks and not have them back to back.

That seems fairly ideal for timing! The bachelorette party will also be a nice break from last-minute wedding tasks.

That makes sense! So you did your bachelorette party in the same destination as your wedding? That's a fun idea, and you get to spend more time in the destination!

That is very considerate of you! My bridesmaids are also coming from all different states, though we haven't figured out a plan for the bachelorette party. The only thing to be careful of the night before the wedding is not being too tired/hungover the next day, lol! Sounds like it'll be a super fun wedding week for you!

I'll be fine.. I'm not a big drinker.

Now... my girls are another story.. but they're not bridesmaids.. I might have a matron of honor but no other wedding party. They're just all coming in to be my support system since my sisters and mother are likely not coming (whole different story), so just having them all there is gonna make my day.
Even if they get super drunk, the wedding isn't until 6pm.. hopefully they'll get over the hangover by then... big greasy burgers for all!!!
