How long before your wedding will you have your bridal shower and/or bachelorette party?

I think 6 weeks is perfect for the same reasons you said! Close enough to the wedding to where it builds excitement for the wedding, but far enough away so that it doesn't interfere with last-minute tasks and stress. Are you doing a destination bachelorette party? Or in town?

That sounds like a good plan! Plenty of time to recover in those two weeks, lol!

Ooh, that sounds like a fun bachelorette party!! Great idea to have it a couple weeks before the wedding, that gives plenty of time for everyone to recover before the wedding.

Buck and doe is a combined party for the bride and groom. So there's prizes and drinks and people buy raffle tickets. I'm not a huge fan and don't want to have friends go and make it seem like we are trying to get money out of them. But she's gone to so many for her friends kids that she wants to throw us one. Lol.

We've been together 10 years and she's been waiting for the past 5 for us to finally get engaged. 😂

Yes I think so and I can relax and enjoy that day plus I plan on worka week in half before I get married. Then have a 2weeks off to enjoy my new status then back to the grind. So I'm trying to ahead a little bit so I'm not to stress out

Yes! We are from the northeast and got married in Orlando, so my bachelorette was at Disney! My MOH polled everyone to see if a weekend trip before the wedding or coming to the wedding a few days early was better, and everyone voted for option 2! It was literally the perfect party!!

Just practicality! getting married in March and my future MIL doesnt want her side of the family traveling during the winter months, and wanted it to be more than a month before the wedding so that those traveling weren't just jumping back and forth, so we settled on November as a time that made sense

    Hello!

I'm getting married October 2,2021. My bridal shower is on August 22nd ( so a little over a month from the big day) and my bachelorette party is September 10th-12th ( 3 weeks before the big day)

At the end of the day, it's whatever time works best for you and your guest!

    Good luck to you!

It will be in town. With covid etc it's just too hard to try a holiday, and I wanted to be able to essentially invite all the female friends of ours who are invited to the wedding, plus both mothers, my sister, and all the sisters in law. It ends up being about 25 people and would have been impossible to wrangle that many for a holiday, plus quite a few have sproglets and so on, which makes things hard.

But we're doing what I'd always wanted to do - a boozy high tea with a pink theme!

Good timing! I've noticed a theme from the replies so far that the bridal shower is typically held earlier than the bachelorette party. Is this typical? Is the bridal shower usually held sometime before the bachelorette party?

Totally makes sense why you wouldn't hold any pre-wedding events in November or December! September and October are great times for those events - the weather should be nice, and it'll avoid interfering with holiday celebrations, so more people will likely be able to attend.

I think it’s pretty typical to have the shower first. I feel like the bachelorette is more of a last hooray so it should be closer to the wedding day.

My bridal shower will be 4 months before my wedding. I'm hoping my bachelorette party will be about 2 months before. We are getting married in December so having to plan events around holidays and birthdays( 3 birthdays in my house alone between my bridal shower and bachelorette party)

I was actually kind of hoping for the bachelorette to be much earlier than a month ahead. just because i really didn't want things to be closer to the wedding so that i had sufficient time to focus on last details. but it worked out overall.

i would say give your bridal party/friends plenty of time to figure out the dates. that way they can coordinate.

Very cool! I think that timing is perfect, with events to look forward to in both of the two months leading up to the wedding.

Awesome that you were able to postpone the bridal shower and bachelorette party to this year! I think it was a smart idea to wait to have those events until the pandemic settled down.
