I already checked with the local hotels and there are plenty very close and we would provide transportation to and from the hotel. But, is 2 hours too far to ask people to drive for a wedding?

I don’t think 2 hours is far at all. Especially if there a lot of affordable hotels. My fiancé and I live in CT and most of his family and friends are in NY. We picked a CT hotel closer to the NY side of the state where we will be having the ceremony and reception. It will be about a 2 hour drive for most.

Well unless your whole entire guest list lives in the same place, people will be coming from all over. But this seems fine, considering how people do destination weddings in another country. I would just be mindful of the timing, if almost everyone has a long drive you probably have to have a Saturday wedding since if you have it on Sunday or Friday it could interfere with people’s work schedules. I think people expect that they may have to drive a little bit to get to a wedding
