How far out did you book make-up and hair?

So the WW checklist says I should do this in May, which would be about 5 months before. Is that pretty standard, or should I be planning for this already? It will just be me for make-up and me and my 6 year old daughter (MOH) for hair, if that matters.

I booked mine 8 months ago. I used her for my engagement photo shoot to get a feel for her. Will be having my bridal shower in two weeks, I will be having my wedding day trial prior to shower, so that having my hair and makeup done won't go to waste considering I'm having to pay for the trial.

I booked last June? It was really early given my wedding is this upcoming September but the person I chose was already booked up for this upcoming May. I had to book the date.

You can never book too early, IMO. I started reaching out 6 months in advance and everyone that I contacted was booked, causing a ton of stress and expense...so just do it!

It totally depends - I am having my regular stylist do my hair and makeup. I spoke to her about 10 months out from my date and she said she'd hold it for me but we'll book other stylists from her salon a few months before. She said for non-regular clients she won't even consider booking until 3 months before because schedules change. It's going to vary salon to salon and iMm guessing region by region.

I still haven't "technically" booked my MUA. My hairstylist has been doing my hair for awhile so it was an easy decision to book her. For makeup, I started looking in October, I got a few different trials for my engagement photos and other people's weddings before I made my final decision. She's holding my date but I still need to pay the deposit

I was super specific on what style and who I wanted (since she's the only one I trusted) so I made sure to book my hmua early on. I booked end of Nov for my Oct wedding.

I booked mine last week, so about 8 months before. I thought maybe I was doing it too soon but I sort of just wanted to get it out of the way.

I knew who I wanted and sounds crazy but it was the first vendor I booked after getting my venue & church. But again she did two of my friends weddings so I knew her work and really wanted her. I booked in November for August.

I booked as soon as I knew my wedding date. Those things book up fast (for the people who are good at it...)

I always recommend atleast 5 months out. This gives you an opportunity to get your eggs in a basket without the anxiety of time looming over your shoulders!
