How far out did you book your honeymoon?

MrsRidley, on January 1, 2017 at 9:43 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 19

Hey everyone! How far out did everyone book their honeymoon? FH and I have decided we would like to go to Key West and stay on a resort along the beach. Our wedding is in a year, when should we actually book? Also, we looked up bundle deals on Expedia and TripAdvisor. Has anyone here used anything like that for their honeymoon, or should we book a travel agent? Would the prices be much different if we use a travel agent?

I guess it just depends on the popularity of the time you're traveling. If your wedding date is correct and leaving for your honeymoon soon after January is a pretty popular vacation time for warm places like Key West. I would book at least 6 months in advance if possible. That way when you book it's not too close to where they jack up room prices.

I booked in November for our June honeymoon.

My parents are going to key west at the end of this month. They got round trip airfare from philly to ft lauderdale at $54 a person! They are renting a house with 10 other sso I can't talk about resort pricing. We went 2 years ago in march and stayed at a really nice place (forget the name but I can find out if you want to know) and I'm not sure how my dad afforded it. It was over $400 a night. He must make more than I thought hahaha

We booked the resort about 8 months out. We are still waiting to book our flights, I've been using tracker apps to guestimate the best time to purchase.

We booked about 6 months out, so in June for our December honeymoon. I would not recommend using expedia, I have been screwed over by them in the past. They changed our flight without notifying us which caused us to miss the flight, resulting in a huge mess we had to fix with the airline. A travel agent should be able to find you prices that are just as good as those you can find online.

A good travel agent will also price match anything you may find online. I use Liberty travel for all my trips.

We booked our flights in April for our November honeymoon. We also used a travel agent, because we went to Europe and were both pretty unfamiliar with the area. She was awesome!

We booked around 8 months out with a travel agent.

FH and I went to key west a few years ago and loved it! We stayed at the Reach which has the only natural made beach on the island. Pricey but highly recommend!!

We booked ours in the Keys too. Booked in Early September and had no issues due to our late winter date. I would start nailing down a hotel/resort by 4-5months out..no harm in getting ahead!

We're looking at an Expedia deal, too. I really want to go to Greece and the flight plus hotel deal is really unbeatable. Where are you looking at??

I go to key west a lot since I live in South Florida. I would actually suggest looking around a lot before using a site like Expedia for Key West just because there are some really nice boutique hotels and B&Bs that may not be on there.
