I am a bride on a really tight budget and I would love to save money in any way possible. So my question is how important are chair covers? Also if I get the covers do I have to get sashes as well? I attached a picture of the venue without the covers (a pic from thier website). Do you think I should...

I agree with the ladies, chair covers is not something you remember about a wedding once time passes.

On the other hand, I personally like how chair covers and sashes look. It makes the room look more elegant but they are very expensive if they are not included in the venue fee. Which is why I am having the same dilemma.

The chairs at my venue look decent and all the picture I've found of receptions that have taken place there, no one has used chair covers.... I wonder why? Smiley atonished

At this point, I'm leaning more towards NO covers Smiley smile

My vote is for no chair covers but if you're really into it, just do a sash.

I would like to know more about your decor. I've seen a bunch of wedding pics lately on this site where brides have used chair covers and sashed and they've been really inspiring and really tied into the look and feel of the decor. We are renting our chairs and so we are getting them to work with our decor so we won't be using chair covers.

If it's not in the budget though, I really don't think they are a necessity. Also if you want them to look nice and you are decorating the room yourself sometimes you need to plan to iron them b/c they can get shipped to you very wrinkled.

I agree with the rant that the venue chairs should look good!

If the chairs have stains, or clash badly with your colors, etc....I would. But if they are decent chairs.....don't worry about it! Based on your pic, I wouldn't worry about it!

You can certainly find a better use for that $, or just not have the additional cost! NOT important at all

Alex, that is a lovely option for decorating those types of chairs.

I'm not a fan of chair covers. I don't like chairs at my venues, so I ordered chivari chairs.

Ednabugg I was thinking the same thing. I'm having a four hour open bar so most of my family and friends will be too drunk to think about chair covers. LOL

Chair covers come in different styles and fabrics; they don't have to be boring or tacky. You could dress em up or get as creative as you want. Check out these pics below.

My venue had the same type of chairs you have shown in this pic--only they were green. My wedding colors were black, white and red---so being on a budget I was freaking out about the chairs because I didnt want the room to look like Christmas colors! I looked into buying and renting--but nothing was really affordable----then I found linentablecloth.com. They have great prices to begin with---but they also do trivia every Tuesday and Friday giving out $75 gift cards (and they offer free shipping on orders over $50). I won several times myself over a few months which helped alot Smiley smile

If you're interested I have 150 white chair covers with black satin sashes connected. As well as 12 round 90 in satin tablecloths and some rectangle and square satin overlays too.

@Shelby J.: Actually,, very little of our money went toward our venue. And the venue was a private club that was a converted warehouse, not a traditional wedding venue. So it's understandable that they wouldn't have great-looking chairs.
