How is..?

Does anyone else get even an inch annoyed when others ask "how is wedding planning going?" Lol, we're in the middle of a pandemic! It's not going as ideal as it could!tenor.gif

I get this every few days and usually from the same people. I think they mean it sincerely, but you’re right, planning through this pandemic has been less than ideal.

I get this every couple days but I actually don’t get annoyed by it. I love that people are interested in my weddings and the planning for me personally haven’t been stressful at all .... YET LOL

Girl, There's a difference between interested and nosey. The ones asking me are not genuinely interested :-(
I'm happy that yours are though, that's fortunate.

Yes! It's exhausting and so many added steps.

No, I like that they ask because I'm glad that they are interested. It was annoying to be asked whether it was still on, because that information was on the website, but I don't mind general questions about how it's going.

By the point of our minimony, people stopped asking me. And shockingly I still have to plan something for next year using the vendors we didn't use this year. Its been chaos.

Yeahhhhh screw them honestly lol my MOH’s mom asked me (she’s basically my second mom) and I flipped. I was like “WEDDING PLANNING IS DONE. I WAS COMPLETELY DONE AND THEN I POSTPONED AND THERES NOTHING ELSE FOR ME TO DO BUT SIT HERE 🙃”

I wish I got this more often actually lol most people don't seem to care. Even when we sent change the dates, most of my extended family didn't even say anything. At least some of my friends were like "wow that's tough, so sorry but I'm glad we'll be able to come next year".

Aha I think people just ask it out of curiosity and cause weddings are such an exciting event even during these times it’s a sprinkle of light

As an outsider, reading a lot of the posts on this forum, it kind of seems like there's a good chance whatever someone says or does is going to be wrong. I've already read a half-dozen posts this morning from brides who are mad because their friends and family don't ask enough about the wedding, and then there are those who find being asked irritating & nosy.... These are stressful times and everyone is struggling with something. I guess I'd try to assume good intentions either way.

I was just thinking the same thing.

I do understand that "small talk" questions can get annoying, but that's the case even without a wedding to plan ("are you ready for summer?", "what do you think of this weather?", "have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?", etc.).

I would practice nodding and smiling and changing the subject.

It depends on who ask, if they are close I use it as a time to vent and to other’s I say I’m moving forward and getting this day over with. 45 more days and this will be past me. Who knew so much went into one day. Lol
