Our reception went 'til 11, I think. We stayed the whole night.

Honestly, I don't remember when dancing started, I think it was somewhere around 7:45/8.

Ceremony was at 5, cocktail hour was 5:30-6:30 or so, we had our grand entrance, a special skit (we're actors), dinner, and then special dances. Floor opened up after that.

Our ceremony starts at 5:30, cocktail hour from 6-7, reception thereafter until midnight. In my culture, we dance at the very start of the reception, briefly, but otherwise we will probably start dancing after entrees are served.

Ceremony starts at 4, cocktail hour 430-530, grand entrance with dinner starting around 545. That’s the extent of our timeline- I know we have until 10. We’re going to finish up our timeline next month when we meet up with our venue, DJ & photographer.

As a guest, I typically only stay about 90 mins after the reception begins

I don’t think we scheduled a time for dancing to start, just after dinner and parent dance (which were at 6:00). That left about 2.5 hrs for dancing, but my family was up as soon as their plates were cleared!
We planned for the reception to end at 9, and we were going to leave around 8:30 (8:45 latest). But the time we were getting ready to leave almost everyone was gone so we told the DJ he could wrap it up.
For reference January wedding it was raining/sleeting, most people had about an hr drive, with a 2:30 ceremony start time.

Our venue is open until 11pm, and we plan on staying the entire time!

Right now our ceremony is set to start at 3:30pm, and end around 4pm. We're having a first look before to take care of the majority of photos, so hopefully we won't have to spend the entire cocktail hour taking photos. If that works out, then we plan on the reception starting around 5pm, with the intros and first dances, then eating! After that, the dance floor opens! So we're shooting for 5:45pm/6pm-11pm dancing time.

As a guest, I always stay until the DJ announces the last dance call.

We're planning for our reception to end at 11 and we'd do our sparkler exit around 10:45. Cocktail hour will be from 5:45-6:45 and the reception would start right after.

Ours ended around 11:00 p.m. Our ceremony started at 5:30. We stayed until the very end, as did most of our guests.

We have to end at 10PM. We're aiming to have the ceremony start at 3:30, cocktail hour from 4-5, entrances and first dance and then dinner at 5:30. Dancing will start whenever dinner is done, so probably 6:45ish-10?

Our venue is ours till 11 pm, but my fiancee and I know for a fact that we won't survive until then, so we're out by 9:30 ideally.

That’s so good that you know that about yourselves! Maybe it’s a better idea to end earlier

We're only ending earlier because the next day after the wedding, we're taking a flight to our honeymoon destination in Washington DC.

Our reception ends at 10, but then there will be a bar open in another part of the venue where people can go for an after party. We’ll probably only stay there for a hour, if that. Dinner is at 6, so everyone can mingle and dance after they’re done eating. We aren’t having special dances.

My venue is a private residence so *technically* we could dance until dawn, but I think I’m setting the end time at 2am. Based on what I know about my FH’s friends, they literally would dance until dawn. 😂 our dinner ends around 9:30-10 so seems like enough time I think.

Most weddings in our families are cake and punch only which is 2-3 hrs max with guests chatting, no dancing. A few have been longer where the event starts around 3 and runs to 9 and nearly all guests stayed to the ends. We decided to start mid afternoon and party as long as we can so we've only looked at venues with no curfew and found quite a few. Our friends and families have said they're looking forward to it. So we will definitely be there over over 8 hours to have time to enjoy everything because so many brides say their day was a blur and rushed cramming so many activities including dancing into a 4 hr total event.

Our reception ends at 11, and we’re keeping the party going afterwards, at the hotel bar until close. Ceremony is at 5:30, followed immediately by cocktail hour/reception. I’m sure some people leave by 10, and some we’ll have to kick out at 2am😄
