How late is too late for fittings/alterations

It will completely depend on what needs to be done to the dress. You could call the seamstress you plan on working with and asking what their typical timeframe is. I started alterations mid August for my October 6th wedding.

Our date is March 9th, 2019 and I plan on starting my alterations beginning of January. I'd say 2-3 months is a good timeframe, but it all depends on what needs to be done to the dress and how fast your seamstress works.

I dropped my dress off for alterations in July and picked it up September 14th for my September 29th wedding. Like the others have said, it depends on what alterations you have to get done and how much dress they have to work with.

My first appointment was 8/25 for my 12/8 wedding. However, I can only do Saturday appointments because of my job and those fill up the quickest so the seamstress recommended I start the process early. If you have daytime flexibility it’s much quicker.

I'm having 3 alterations appointments. One is 4 months prior, one is 1 month prior, and the final one is 1 week prior!

My first appt was end of September for a mid-october wedding. I had 3 in between and should have asked for a final before picking up the dress.
