How long after marriage do you continue to wear your engagement ring?

I've never heard of not wearing your engagement ring after the wedding. I'm getting my saudered (sp?) together

I only know of people wearing both. I did have a friend that lost her engagement ring, so she just wore the band, but that's the only circumstance of knew of that happening....

Depends on the person...I plan on wearing my engagement ring since the wedding band will have a scoop from where it hugs the center of my engagement ring. I think it may look a little off on its own, but straight rings didn't work out.

Oh ok. I thought at some point you only wear the band.

That's another reason why I asked. I looked at scooped wedding bands. With the engagement ring it looks nice but without it - it looks weird.

Forever!!! You can wear just the band if you want on the go but typically they are worn together.

My mom and FMIL have been wearing their's for 30+ years.

Mine are soldered. H wants to get me a plain everyday band but as of now I am wearing both everyday.

My grandmother has been wearing her engagement ring, since she got it, in the late 1940s, including wearing it with her wedding band, every day. And she's been widowed for almost 20 years.

I think it depends on the person, and the ring. My engagement ring was FH's biggest splurge ever, and the wedding band will just be a small delicate ring to add to it, so I'll be wearing my e-ring till the day I die!

Its a personal preference.... I could see medical workers wearing just their band, for instance... I plan on wearing my engagement ring forever. Unless someday one of my children want to use it... or grand children.

You can wear it or not. It's up to you

I'm only wearing my band right now because I'm so swollen (my wedding band was big but now fits perfectly) but once I deliver, I'll be going back to wearing both.

With the amount of money FH spent I'll be wearing it as long as it fits, and if it stops fitting I'll get it resized and keep wearing it!

FH would be piiiiissed if I stopped wearing a ring that he worked hard and saved up for months to buy! Plus, it's gorgeous. I'm on #teamforever
