How long after marriage do you continue to wear your engagement ring?

This just came to mind but how long are you expected to wear engagement ring after you get married. I remember my former boss had been married for like 15 years and still wore her engagement ring along with band. My other coworkers just wear their band.

I specifically picked out a wedding band that would hug my engagement ring so I could wear them both. i plan on wearing the both forever.

I'll wear mine forever, but I work in the medical field, so I likely will get a qalo band for work or when FH and I go hiking/kayaking/boating.

I'm moving my original engagement ring to my right and will be wearing my bridal set forever. The ring on my ring won't be on forever, I'll wear that hear and there.

Forever! Some days I will just wear the band if I stay home all day, go on vacation, etc., but I love my ering and plan on wearing it for the rest of my life.

I didn't realize that some people (most people? Haha) wear both rings the majority of the time until recently. My mother only wore her engagement ring on special occasions when we were growing up. In hind sight, farming and raising young children led to a higher chance of loss or damage and I do believe she wears both these days.

Our bands are sentimental, and don't match my engagement ring, so I plan on wearing my band most of the time and my engagement ring on special occasions. Although I have contemplated wearing my engagement ring on my other hand. Haven't decided yet.

If I'm at work I can't wear rings at all, otherwise I plan to wear them both together.

I think it's mostly American women that wear both rings together, while growing up in Switzerland, I would never see anyone wearing both. Most of the time, you would move the engagement ring to your right hand and only wear the wedding band on the left. This is what I'm doing too.

The last time I was visiting home though, I saw several women wearing both rings too, so I'm guessing the 'trend' swapped to Europe as well by now Smiley smile

Until I got engaged I thought people only wore it until marriage. Now everyone has told me it's common to wear both. My friend's band doesn't "match" her engagement ring so she moved the e-ring to her right hand, which is probably what I'll do.

I plan on wearing both until the engagement ring gets annoying. It's kind of sharp so maybe when we have babies I'll take it off but wear it when we go out or something.

My aunt wears only her band but she's a operating room nurse. She wears her engagement ring with her band when she goes to an outing.

Yeah, my darling step-mother has been married to my dad 30+ years and wears hers daily. Also, if someone said, "You've married too long-- you have to take off that symbol of your husband's love that you adore" I'd laugh in his face and punch him in the nose.

My mom only wears her engagement ring on special occasions but until recently she worked in a veterinarian's office so I guess that's why.

    I'll probably wear mine forever.

I work with machinery, so I will wear just my band for work, and both anytime I'm off.

My mom has hers attached so she wears them both, but I think I'm going to keep my rings seperate. Myering is a solitaire and it sits rather high and gets caught on a lot of stuff. I like to be able to choose when I'm going to wear it so I can preserve it for as long as possible!

I will wear mine forever, and almost everyone I know does too. It's your personal choice.
