How long after your wedding did you go on honeymoon?

I would love to go right away but bw work and budget it may not happen.. I feel like you should do it asap so it feels like an actual honeymoon and not just a vacation.. What was your honeymoon budget? Would you go on a mini moon while you save money or just do it when finances allow?

FH wants to go right after the wedding. Our Wedding is on a Saturday, so we will either leave Sunday or Monday. Now if the wedding would hurry up and get here. But I agree with others it will feel like a honeymoon no matter when you go. I've had friends go months and years after they got married so they could do their "dream" honeymoon. And if you tell places it's your honeymoon they'll make it feel like one. Our budget is going to be around $4200 I think.

We are getting married Saturday May 7th, and aren't boarding our plane to Mexico until Monday, May 9th. That way we have time to take a breather and make sure we have what we need packed and ready to go. I think if I had to wait a week or so in between I would go crazy! Part of the excitement for my wedding is that we get to go on our honeymoon right after! It's really up to you. We are doing an all inclusive and it is $1500 including plane.

We're leaving two days after the wedding! I have no idea what our budget is, FH is surprising me with the honeymoon. My guess is ~$3-4k

Our wedding is Sunday at 5pm and we're leaving Monday at 11:00 am for our honeymoon in Hawaii. I wanted to go right away so we don't break that little wedding bubble; I want to bask in our moment for just a little longer before we have to go back to work (plus we're paying for the wedding almost entirely ourselves save for a few gifts, so I want to R.E.L.A.X.) We budgeted 3k for just hotel and flights, but someone gifted our airline tickets to us already so we'll be able to use the travel budget for excursions and food there.

We are leaving at 11 AM the morning following the wedding! It makes it kinda stressful leaving right after, because not only do you have to juggle the wedding, but you have to plan and coordinate leaving for a vacation too (dog sitter, packing, etc). If I could do it over, I would book my honeymoon with a day in between, but still right after the wedding. It was important to me that it felt like a honeymoon! Our budget was about $2500 and we are going to Hawaii (two different islands over 11 days). We used points for airfare.

We are taking a mini-moon the day after the wedding for a few days. We both want a beach honeymoon, but we would rather go when its cold and snowy here in the Chicago area. So honeymoon will be in January or February. I did feel it was important to get away for a few days after the wedding so we can enjoy being married for a bit before we go back to work. Smiley smile

We got Married in april, and went on our honeymoon to Italy in Oct. I didn't want to plan an international honeymoon and wedding at the same time, and it was cheaper to go in Oct. Spent about $5000

We got married on a Saturday, left for honeymoon Monday night. No need to rush it if it is not in your schedule or budget right away.

We are getting married on Saturday, and are flying to Australia around 10pm Sunday night (spending Saturday night at our venue property). Assuming we get our poop in a group and pack in advance, this should still allow us to see people the morning/day after. I think we're under $3k pp for air fare and lodging (including domestic flights) for just under two weeks.

We got married on Saturday, flew to Florida on Friday, and left on a 7 night cruise on Saturday. Then we stayed in Florida an extra day. So we had a 9 night honeymoon.

I worked Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the week after the wedding.

It was important to us to go away for a week together right after the wedding. But since cruises are typically Saturday to Saturday, we just waited until the next weekend after the wedding.

I can't imagine doing all the last minute things the week of the wedding PLUS packing for our honeymoon! We were able to decompress on Sunday and Monday and clean up all the wedding stuff. Then we had a few days to do honeymoon packing and last minute shopping for stuff we wanted to take.

Wedding is on Saturday, leaving on Monday. We were originally going to wait because we wanted to go to the Bahamas and didn't want to deal with rainy/hurricane season, but then my parents surprised us by letting us use their timeshare in Hawaii, we are so excited! Smiley smile ETA: as far as budget since the trip itself is covered, we're hoping to spend no more than $2000 on food, excursions, and rental car. I'm hoping we won't spend that much, but that's what we'll plan for.

Wedding is on 12/16, honeymoon cruise leaves on 1/3 but we may take a day or two to get to the port.

I'm really glad that there's some time between the wedding and honeymoon. I'm an anxious person so I would be super stressed trying to make sure we had everything to leave the night of/early morning after the wedding. Now I plenty of time to make sure we have all the documents that we need and everything else.

ETA: Everything included, we'll spend close to $2500 I imagine. $1500 on the cruise (5 nights, Caribbean), $800 transportation and $200 accommodation/food the night before the cruise.

Our wedding is October but we won't be going anywhere until the following April or May. We'll book that after the wedding. We're planning a long weekend "get away" for the weekend after the wedding.

Wedding is on 9/17/16 but honeymoon is likely going to be around 8/20/17. We wanted to make it to a Eurpoean formula 1 race and those are all done and over with by 9/17. Plus we're both pretty new to our jobs so taking time off for a wedding and a European vacation in the same year wasn't going to cut it.

We are going to do a mini-moon in Aspen or Telluride for a few days after the wedding. Thinking we'll leave Sunday from Crested Butte and be back at work on Wednesday/Thursday.

Wedding will be 4pm on a Saturday, we're driving to a hotel near the airport that night, then flying out at 10am Sunday. I suggested several times that we fly out on Monday, but FH was adamant that we get gone immediately (I think partly to avoid family pressure for a morning-after gift-opening brunch). Now he keeps saying things like, "Man, that's going to be a long day on Saturday." But we already booked everything, sooo....

Our wedding will be a Saturday, and we plan on a mini-moon to Niagara Falls for a couple days right afterward. Our big honeymoon will be in November about five months later. I was a little disappointed but we really want to visit the islands on that itinerary and it isn't offered until November, but now that I'm less than 100 days out I'm so glad I spaced them. For budget purposes and sanity it will be nice to have something else on the horizon and not be stretched thin for the wedding and the trip

We originally wanted to go directly after the wedding but with grad school and everything else it's not gonna happen. We will get married on October 22 and then do the honeymoon sometime in mid December after FH graduates. We are getting married in Pigeon Forge, TN so we'll spend the rest of the weekend after the wedding over there so at least we have a few days together before reality. We haven't exactly set a budget for HM yet though.
