How long did you date before getting engaged?

Just shy of 6 1/2 years.

If anyone asked why were weren't engaged yet, my friends had to change the subject super fast, because I would turn a rather dangerous shade of Angry Red.

In DH's defense, he's 6 years younger than me, and he wasn't ready. And I knew that. But I was, and it was tough, sometimes.

...That's also why we planned the wedding in 7 1/2 months.

We dated for 6 years before getting engaged. We bought a house together and had our first child by year 2. We will be married the month of our 7 year anniversary.
