How Long Did You Wait To Start Wedding Planning After Getting Engaged?

It's easy to want to plan out the entire wedding as soon as you get engaged! However, not everyone starts planning right away. Some couples wait so they can spend time enjoying the engagement and sharing the news with their friends and families. Others start planning before they're actually engaged....
It's easy to want to plan out the entire wedding as soon as you get engaged! However, not everyone starts planning right away. Some couples wait so they can spend time enjoying the engagement and sharing the news with their friends and families. Others start planning before they're actually engaged. How long after getting engaged did you wait before jumping into wedding planning? Did you start planning immediately? Did you wait a few weeks (or even a few months)? Or did you start planning before officially getting engaged?

    That makes sense! Very cool that you have some of your vendors booked! It might make sense to at least start looking for other vendors soon (or at least the vendors that are a high priority to you), since many people will likely postpone from 2021 to 2022, and there may end up being limited vendors available for your date. Whenever you do decide to look for other vendors, make sure you ask them about their COVID/cancellation/postponement policies before you book them, just in case! Hoping the pandemic is over by 2022, but better to be covered just in case it's not.

    Good question!
    For us: "Before officially getting engaged" because we
    have been discussing wedding and marriage since we moved in together.

    In january 2020, we picked the month (april 2022) but we picked the exact day after getting engaged. And we picked the venue. We got engaged on apr. 15,2020.
