How long did your wedding makeup last?

I Said Yes :-), on February 10, 2014 at 1:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I am in the process of selecting my makeup artist and want to know what time did you have your make up done and how long did it last? My wedding starts at 4pm and with 6 others in the bridal party needing makeup, at 30-60mins each session, we want to start early. Did you have to touch-up? How long before that happened?

My wedding began at 3:30, and I had my makeup done at about 12 noon. I didn't really need touch ups other than some freshened lipstick/gloss before the reception (too much kissing ;p). We freshened my powder and lips right before our reception intro at about 5:00pm-ish, so about 5 hours after my makeup was first put on.

I would definitely ask my MUA what time she thinks is best to start doing everyone's makeup. Yours should be last so it's freshest! Your MUA should also give you a small baggie with powder/lipstick to reapply later too.

I got my makeup done at 10am and my ceremony wasn't until 4pm. I did a slight touchup on my lips before the ceremony and pictures but my makeup ended up lasting the entire day.

Make-up artists are usually pretty great at using products and techniques that will make your make-up last a very long time. My make-up artist gives each bride the lipstick they've used for free so you can touch up. My face is an oil-slick, especially at parties like wedding receptions, so I will be asking my make-up artist for advice about whether I should get some translucent powder and bring it with me for the wedding.

My make up was done around noon for our 5pm ceremony. It still looked really good at midnight.

Oh that's great to hear that there's a potential for it to last. I will not be utilizing the MUA for touch-ups, but I will definitely have a baggie by my side. For those who are married already, do you know what kind of setting spray was used? I get really greasy really fast and would hate to look a mess in photos

    Hello!

Congrats on your up coming wedding! I saw your ad, and wanted to let you know that your makeup should still look great at the end of the night. I have done weddings where I was applying makeup at 10 am and at 10 pm it still looked fresh and photo worthy. Many blessings on your big day!
