How long does a dress take to get altered?

I dropped off my dress 3 months ago to get altered. My mother insisted my godmother do my dress, so I took it to her. She is only taking the dress up two inches. We are not taking it in or fixing anything else but the length. I have tried calling her 4 times and so has my mother and she never returns our calls. Does it normally take this long? I still have a little over two months before we get married, but some communication would be nice. I am starting to overthink that maybe my dress got ruined, she had to order another, and is trying to fix it w/o me knowing. (Probably not the case, but who knows!)
