How long for a bridal shower?

Im thinking a short sunday afternoon for about 4 hours.

I think mine was 3 hours. I would let the host handle the length of time.

Mine will be about 3 hours. It's a luncheon from 11 to 2. Most showers I've been to that have been at a restaurant or venue are around 3 hours. First half hour is guests getting in and settled. About an hour for food, then another hour and a half for gifts/games and wrapping things up. Showers that have been held at family.homes tend to go longer since people stay and mingle at the house after.

We had 3 hours for my friend's, it was a fancy sit down meal and tea and we did games but we ran close on time. So it really depends on what all you are doing.

Thinking about this made me realize a 3 hour reception is probably too short for my own wedding..

Three hours is probably a good bench mark, but I think Candace is right in that it depends on what you're doing. But I would leave that up to whoever is hosting the shower. You could give them a sense of how long you think would be good.
