How Long is Your Destination Wedding Trip?

bevbabe, on September 21, 2021 at 11:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Not necessarily yours in case you're coming early or staying after, but for guests for the hotel block. My guests are coming a long way so it's a vacation for them and I want it to be enough time so it's worth it, but not too much. I'm thinking 3-5 days. Originally I thought of a welcome party the day before, the wedding, and a farewell brunch but that's only 3 days. I'm just curious what others are doing?

My cousin had a destination wedding and I believe we arrived 1 or 2 days before the wedding and left 1 or 2 days after. But they only hosted us for the rehearsal dinner and wedding day, nothing else. I think guests mainly only expect maybe a welcome gathering and the wedding day. If you want you can do a casual brunch and say "we'll be having brunch this day and this time. Everyone is welcome to join us." but I wouldn't do anything formal.

Okay this is mainly for the hotel block. So should I just do it for the day before-the day after or add any extra days?

Ohhhh I see, I guess it depends on how far guests are traveling, but I would probably do those 3 days, so 2 nights. But I am no pro with destination weddings so you may want another opinion.

We are doing a destination and we are doing a welcome party Friday night, wedding Saturday. So the room blocks are open for Thursday night, Friday, Saturday and the guests can choose to arrive and depart when they want. They can add a few days or not

Hi, We are planning our destination wedding for November 2022 and we did a room block of 4 nights to be safe and are going to let the guests decide if they prefer longer or shorter.
