How long should i allow for getting ready

Anya, on March 5, 2020 at 1:13 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 5
Hello. Looking for some input on timing. Right now I have allotted 3 hours total for getting ready. This would be for just myself (bride) and matron of honor. We are getting our hair done (simple big curls) and doing our own makeup. Does this seems like a good amount? I don’t want to feel rushed or late for my own wedding. Thanks.

Are you doing it yourself or getting someone to do it for you? If someone is doing it for you then you could get them to estimate how much time it would take since that would be more accurate

The stylist I spoke to said anticipate 2 - 2 1/2 hours just for hair and make up.
So the big picture is probably 3 - 3 1/2 Hours.
Which seems right. When I have time to get ready for a big event I probably take close to 2 - 2 1/2 hours to get ready.
Since we’re doing a sunrise wedding, I’m guessing my morning will start around 430 am. Our wedding isn’t until October, but I’ve started practicing my hair and makeup on my own if I decide not to hire someone.

I agree with Melle, if you're getting your hair done by a professional, they should be able to give you an estimate of how long the work will take to complete.

I planned on 1 hour to have my hair professionally done and 1 hour for my makeup to be done, then 45 minutes per service for bridesmaids & moms.
