How Long to Hire Officiant for?

Briana, on June 7, 2024 at 6:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 1
Hello! Smiley smile I am in the process of hiring an officiant through an app but to request for availability they want to know how long they will be needed for. How many hours should I hire an officiant? I am also requesting that the officiant comes to the rehearsal (which lasts 1 hour). Should I hire them for 2 hours in this case?

Hey there! 😊 Congrats on your wedding planning! When hiring an officiant, it's a good idea to consider a bit more time than just the ceremony and rehearsal. Here's a breakdown that might help:

    1. Ceremony: Typically, the ceremony itself might last around 30 minutes, but you'll want the officiant to arrive early to coordinate and prepare, so let's say about 1 hour.
    2. Rehearsal: If the rehearsal is 1 hour, you'll need to factor that in as well.

So, hiring the officiant for 2 hours for the ceremony day (1 hour for the ceremony and 1 hour for preparation and coordination) and 1 hour for the rehearsal seems reasonable. However, it might be good to book a little extra time just in case things run over. So, a total of 3-4 hours (2-3 hours on the wedding day and 1 hour for the rehearsal) would be a safe bet.

Hope this helps and best of luck with your wedding preparations! 🌟
