How long was your wedding album?

SaraBear, on January 16, 2018 at 10:56 AM Posted in Married Life 0 7
Hi everyone! I posted before that I am creating my own wedding album. Our photographer offered it at a steep cost and we moved across the world so shipping was a pretty penny. Anyways, I’ve decided to go with Artifacts Uprising to make mine. We had 124 guests so an okay sized wedding and have pictures from getting ready (very few), first look, family pictures, ceremony, and reception. Our photographer sent us all the pictures and there are give or take 8 or 900 I can actually choose from. How long was everyone’s album? How many pictures or how many pages? I am leaning towards choosing 100 pages (50 pages front and back) but I’m afraid it might be overkill. Haha help!

I think my book was about 80 pages I think. I don't think it's overkill if you love the pictures!

Our photographer included an album in our package. We were instructed to pick 40 pictures for our pro album (out of over 900).

I do plan to put together smaller, more casual albums to use some of the pictures we did not selected for the pro album. For it's purpose, though, 40 pictures in a really nice, high quality album puts together a complete picture of our wedding day.

I made my own album from Nations Photo Lab. I ended up using about 117 photos I think, with about 3-4 on each page (I think I chose 12 inches x 12 inches for the album size). Usually a photographer will recommend picking your favorite 30-50. The point is just not to crowd the pages, so each photo can be showcased and appreciated. When choosing to have a lot of pages, also take into consideration the thickness of pages... 50+ thick pages will make for a VERY large/thick and heavy album. Just something to keep in mind.

Ours was 22 8x11 pages and 70ish photos. Only a few pages had a single photo, most having between 3-5. I did have a photo on the front cover and a photo on the back cover.

I was married back in 1984. We have an album of about 24 photos, all 8 x 10. Most of the photos are formal, but we have a few more casual, getting ready photos.

Amazing all the choices you have now with digital photos, etc....
