How long?

How long before your ceremony did you have your makeup and hair finalized? I don't want it to be too early, but also don't want to be running late for my own wedding. I do want it to all be fresh though!. TIA!

There are a lot of factors to consider here. Are you doing a first look? Any photos before the ceremony? Do you need to travel from where you're getting ready to the ceremony venue? I will be finished with my hair and makeup around 2 pm for my 4:30 pm ceremony.

Depends on a few things like PP have said. We are doing a first look, so our photographer wants hair and make up done by 12:30pm. Our ceremony is at 5pm. Have you considered airbrush makeup? I had it done for my engagement photos and loved it. The longer I had it on, the better it looked and I only needed to touch up my lipstick a little. Doing the same for my wedding. I would suggest reaching out to your photographer and asking them, they are usually pretty good at coming up with a timeline!

I'm doing mine the week of. My hair will likely be half up/down to hold my veil in place. I'm wearing my mother's headpiece and it's styled like a headband. I also live in a different state and am not going to my hometown until 10 days before we get married. I'm not stressing. We have an evening ceremony and reception; touch-ups will be minimal.

Yes, a lot of factors to consider. I can tell you that we are doing a first look, and the majority of pictures before the ceremony. So, I'll be ready by 2pm, for our 4pm ceremony.

We did hair and make up at a salon — we were there until 2pm. Then off to the venue to get dressed. Ceremony started at 3:30. We did not do a first look. We ended up with a good amount of downtime in between but I wanted to be sure to leave a cushion.

This is something I’ve been wondering as well. I want to take pics with the bridal party/immediate family before the ceremony, so I’m thinking of having it all finished by 3 (ceremony starts at 5). That way I’ll have time to get dressed and take pics.

So glad I’m not the only one that can’t decide! My trial was for a half up half down and I didn’t feel “me”. I think I’ve decided to go with all down like the included pictures. Never expected my hair to be so hard to make a decision on!
