How many cards in your invitation suite?

Lynnie, on February 26, 2018 at 2:05 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20

How many different pieces are in your invitation suite? How many extra cards are you including??

I had to sacrifice lots of extra inserts because my love for letterpress made each piece too expensive! Smiley cry

Our invitations included the invitation, the response card, and an info card. Those were in an inner envelope with belly band, sealed with a sticker. So there were two extra cards included, we opted out of two other cards the designed offered as part of the suite.

Would have loved to add a map of the region but it was more money from the budget that we couldn't commit Smiley cry

My invitation suite started with the Save the Dates because everything has to match and be consistent. For the actual invitations though, the suite itself contains:

    Invitations

    place cards

    table numbers

    programs

    Menus

    RSVP Cards

    Direction Cards

    Reception Cards

    Thank you cards

I am pretty certain that I am going to limit it to the invitation, reception cards, RSVP postcards, and Thank you cards. There are just so many options!

We had the invitation card glued to a pocket which only contained the RSVP and the envelope. The pocket was totally unnecessary but I just fell in love with the suite and the bellyband so I went ahead with it! These are about 95% DIY.

Invite, Menu (we had a buffet style dinner, so there wasn't a meal selection as everyone could have whatever they wanted, but wanted them to be aware in case of diet restrictions), Guest Guide (some details), RSVP, and a Map card.

Each card was double sided, marked with a corresponding icon and colored in a shade of gray to get that mountain-scape effect when tucked into the pocket.

We will be having rsvps, direction cards, hotel info included. I am also ordering STD and TY cards to match. I also loved the pocket so we are doing that. Invite, pocket and hotel card are plum with grey writing, RSVP and directions are grey with purple writing.

We just had the invitation card and a business card that had our wedding website and travel agents info on it. Everyone had already been sent an email with a lot ofntge info since it was a DW.

We did the invitation with a details card and the RSVP card/envelope. We also got back pockets to keep things organized.

We were also old school and used inner envelopes and the protective piece of tissue paper.

Our suite came with the invitation, details card, RSVP card, RSVP envelope, belly band, and medallion. Our hotel also gave us directions cards, so we included those as well.

I really wanted to do a pocket invitation with 4 inserts but postage is gonna cost more than I wanna spend.

So I've decided I'm only doing the invite and RSVP card.

Ours were 3 pieces. There was a 4th piece that was included for anyone with small children because we had childcare and activities for the kids, and the 4th card had info about that.

I haven't ordered mine yet- but I'm probably going to go the cheap way and do Vistaprint. I'm thinking just the invite and RSVP card. Details may either be printed on the back of the invite or MAYBE I'm thinking about doing a details card. Nothing too fancy, want to keep both costs of the actual invites down and costs of postage down.

We have the invitation, RSVP card, and reception card. We decided to forgo the directions insert to save money. A large number of our guests are local and it's unnecessary for them, and we couldn't get a smaller amount. I will make these inserts myself for those who need them, or order them desperately from a different company. We are also considering including rehearsal dinner information in the invitations of those who are invited.

Most of our family is local, so ours include just the invitation itself and the response card. We haven't figured all the details out yet, so we may end up adding a more outlined detail page.

For those not including a response card but instead encouraging people to RSVP online, what language did you use? My coworker did this and she just noted something about being eco-friendly on the invitation.

We had the invitation and a details card with our website to RSVP. We used wax seals on the envelopes and having a minimal suite probably helped a little in keeping the weight in the range for normal postage.
