How many cupcakes can one stand hold?

HoundMama, on March 9, 2012 at 4:39 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

FH is a musician and an avid record collector. We are planning on having cupcakes instead of a cake, and we were going to print out minis of our favorite album covers and stick them in the tops of each cupcake with toothpicks. We would like to make these to hold the cupcakes, but I have no idea how many cupcakes one of these would hold? Any guesses...or suggestions how we might find out? I found a place where I can order the cake stand hardware, but I would like to order them all at once, so I would like to have an estimate beforehand.

Thanks!

I am sure the seller knows how many will fit. Can you ask them?

I wish I could help. The best you can do is guesstimate on this one. Or, go buy some cupcakes and put them on the largest LP and go from there.

I love your theme and what you are doing with the cupcakes.

It can comfortably hold (as in not pushing into each other and messing up the frosting) 20-25 depending on how full the tops/frosting are. Hope this helps!

Do you have any records at home? Maybe try laying out some cupcake liners, leaving some space in between to account for frosting.

    I don't know but that's so awesome!

Do you know the diameter/circumference of the record sizes you would use? If so, you could cut out a paper template and take a bunch of empty cupcake liner papers and arrange them to see how many would fit. That's what I'm doing with our homemade cupcake stands.

Rachelle, we both did the same thing. When we went to the bakery for our cupcake tasting FH was literally tracing out the different-sized cupcakes onto a napkin. (He's an engineer, he likes to be precise.) It took me a few minutes to figure it out and make him stop. Smiley smile The chef was staring at us like we were idiots.
