kara, on May 31, 2015 at 11:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

We will being serving fajitas for all the guest and we will have a candy bar. I am doing 1/2 a sheet cake for the grooms cake and that will feed 48 people. I am also doing a small cake on top of the cupcake stand that will feed 30 people. I dont know who will eat cake and who wont. I know there are a few people that cant eat cake but not an exact number so what do you think?

I'd have enough for everyone to have a piece. Some people may not have any and others may want two. Plus, leftover cake = breakfast the next day Smiley smile

Maybe half as many cupcakes as guests since you are also having the grooms cake and small cake, as well as a candy bar.

It depends on your guest LOL. I cannot go by the normal size piece of cake for my hillbilly family members LOL. If they get handed a piece of cake that is 2x2x2 they are going to look at the server like are you serious LOL. Also it is custom in my family for people to take cake home with them. So I have to have a ton of cake. I am doing a cake buffet of several different 10 inch cakes, cupcakes, and just as a back up 2 full sheet cakes hidden, and about 15 pies. I am hoping it is enough. Know your guest and if they like to eat plan ahead LOL.

Including us we have 61 guests.

We are having 72 cupcakes (6 dozen, each dozen is a different flavour), a 6" cake, a 60 piece assorted pastry and squares tray and a fruit tray.

I think ours will be more than enough for people to have extra and for us to have leftovers.

You should at least have enough for everyone to have one cupcake or pieces of cake. Which would be at least 6 dozen cupcakes.

The baker we were looking at told us it averages out to 1 per person.

What does your baker think? With 48 servings of groom's cake and 30 servings of the cutting cake, I would think you'd need about 75 cupcakes. Then you have one cake serving per person.

I would do 100 cupcakes. We have pretty much the same set up as you concerning grooms cake and cutting cake and we are doing 150 for our 193 guest count. However, we are doing two flavors of cupcakes and the groom's cake is a 3rd flavor. I think if all of yours is the same flavor you could maybe cut back to 75, otherwise I would go with 100. Better to have too much than not enough (especially when it's cake!).

We're having cupcakes with seasonal berries served & then a Froyo bar later on as a late night snack. After all the appetizers, cheese & crackers & the main meal - I think 1 cupcake per guest will be sufficient. We're estimating 120 guests so I'm getting 125 cupcakes.

Cupcakes are usually self served to were as cake is cut and served by someone. I would make sure I had at least 2 for every person. I have been to a couple of weddings that have served cupcakes and ran out before grandma could get hers. Just my suggestion.

I never eat dessert at a wedding, I would say one serving of cake/ cupcakes should be enough.
