How many cupcakes should I order?

We are doing mini cupcakes for our reception! My bakery said to plan 2.5 per person for the minis. I would definitely order enough for 1per guest, maybe even a little more cuz who would turn down taking leftover cake home?

We are doing cupcakes as well, and because we know our guests, we've budgetted 3 cupcakes per guests. They will definitely eat at least 1 and take extras for later.

I think one cupcake per person should be enough. I feel like with all the food - appetizers, salads, and main meal - people will be too full to have a lot of dessert. One cupcake is all I would want.

One per person should be fine if they are regular sized cups, if you werent doing the other treats I would say two per person

We are having mini cupcakes along with some sheet cake at the reception. My cupcake lady passed along that her rule of thumb is expect 3 mini cupcakes per person. She's not a professional baker so i'm not sure how accurate that is, but just letting you know what I have heard!

I'm guessing at least one per person. Some people might love cake, not like candy and vice versa. You can't really account for everyone taking part in all the different parts of the dessert buffet. I would probably order at least 150. That way everyone is at least sure to get one & if there are leftovers people can take some home.

My guest count is at give or take 100. We are doing 9 dozen cupcakes with one of them being gluten free :-)

Thanks everyone! I decided to order 140 regular cupcakes and a dozen gluten free ones. That will be all. I'm not gonna stress about it. These cupcakes are amazing though so I wouldn't be surprised if people eat more than 2. Hehe. Thanks again!
