How many did you invite vs how many can come

Sarah, on August 13, 2022 at 10:32 PM Posted in Planning 1 16
I invited 110 people and of those 90 are coming… I was pretty sure that we would have 100 but it is what it is and at least we can save some more money on food 🤷🏻‍♀️ How many people are coming to your wedding? How many did you invite!

I invited 149 and right now have 116 coming and we are still waiting on 9 to RSVP. We are expecting them to be “no”.

We're still a year away but there is another thread on this topic that you can also check out:

It seems less people are attending due to the covid scare. But some people have high attendance rates, so they may have people that now want to get out.

We were told to always prepare for 100% attendance. It happens more often than people realize. During the pandemic, friends and family who have gotten married have not seen any decline in numbers from what they invited, except for rare situations that are not pandemic related. It’s a know your crowd thing, but there is no way to begin to guess until you start receiving replies.

I would expect to plan for 100%. It would be awful to get more RSVPs than planned. I could even imagine people we didn't expect to come actually decided that it was better to attend. I didn't want to make it sound like we should send out more invites than we have room for.

We get married in a few weeks. We invited 286 knowing around 100 wouldn't attend. We're going to have right around 160.

We're having what's considered a destination wedding for over half the guests which is why we knew that many wouldn't attend

    2019, so ore pandemic
We invited something like 95 and we had 64 including us. It was a good size. And with what we saved from no’s we got to rent a chandelier 😊

OMG. ..... FIFTEEN PEOPLE were no shows??? Oh man, I would be so tempted to send them a bill for their meal that you paid for that they never ate.

I know right! We’d paid for 100 guest up front. But, if my numbers are right it could be 12, but still. A few had family emergencies. But I had 3 cousins who no showed and didn’t reach out after. SMH

We invited 74 and 59 attended with zero no shows.
No shows without a call or text is inconsiderate as heck.

Invited 150, 98 RSVP’d, and 3 backed out at last minute due to COVID.
While it may be tempting to over-invite expecting enough declines to meet your budget, this should never ever be done. I’ve seen a couple brides on here that did that asking if cancelling their wedding would be bad because they now can’t afford it.

What type of people don't RSVP? Sometimes also, the concern is that the mail takes longer these days and how do we know the invite was received? Has anyone received a save-the-date and said they did not get an invite?

I’ve weeded the type of people that don’t RSVP out of my life by now.
Didn’t come across any that didn’t receive an invite. I did have to follow up with several non-rsvpers.

Our wedding was 4/11/21 and we had invited 100 people and 64 rsvp. I hoping that all of my guests would rsvp but the pandemic kept a lot of my guests from coming/rsvp. I had figured that some of them would not come bc of the pandemic.
