How many doughnuts?

Dani, on June 22, 2018 at 3:09 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10

We are inviting 200 guest to our wedding. We have enough cake for 150 people, but are also doing doughnuts. I wouldn't think each person would have a piece of cake and a doughnut. Anyone else done this before? How many doughnuts should I order?

Personally, I would have enough cake and donuts for each person. In the rare situation that every person wants both cake and a donut, the last thing you'd want is to run out and feel embarrassed.

To add: The best part about donuts is that they are inexpensive, usually anyway. We had donut favors for my bridal shower and I was surprised to hear how cheap they were! They looked so beautiful though (they had edible flowers and other designs). So, worst case scenario, you take home the extras!

Hi Dani! I agree that it would be best to supply enough for everyone because you never know; there might be a desire for both cake and doughnut! However, if you're unable to, you could supply about 6 baker's dozen and provide enough for half of your guests. Think it through further to see what works best for you! Good luck!!

I would get at least 200 doughnuts. You never know who will want both or some people may take two doughnuts. You definitely wouldn't want to run out. If you are concerned about having too many leftover you could get take away bags and let guests who are too full to eat them there take them home for a late night snack (or breakfast the next morning).

I guess I have different feelings about this - but I would do somewhere around 75-100. That way everyone can have at least one of each type of desert and some people can have two.

If those are the only two desserts, as in you aren't doing a dessert buffet, then I would suggest getting enough for all guests. If you were doing other desserts like a dessert bar then you could lower the amount.

    I'd suggest getting 200 doughnuts.

We are doing a cookie table and cake, and while we have enough cake for everyone, we are also allotting 3-5 cookies per guest. Some may pick one over the other but its better to have enough or more for everyone.

Definitely order enough for one for everyone. Some people (like me!) are weird and don't like cake. Especially if it's fondant. They will eat 2 or 3 donuts. And you KNOW people are gonna shove donuts in their purses and take them home.

I personally didn’t wNt to waste $1000 on a cake cause I have never ate cake or saw many people eat cake at a wedding and you end up with tons of it. We’re doing a small 3 tier cake that feeds 60 people (100 guests attending) then 100 doughnuts and 300 cookies. We also have doughnut treat bags so people can take any left overs home.

I would get 6 dozen. With donuts and cake there should be enough.

I think 100-150 would be plenty
