I still tried on like 3 afterwards but as soon as I put them on I immediately knew they weren't it and went back to the first one! It was actually a dress that my mom picked off of the rack!

5 shops! Found my dress at the last shop and bought it right after I took it off. So I say it was worth all the trips.

It was the only dress to really make me say "WOW" at myself lol. There were other dresses I really liked, but in those cases I was more admiring the dress rather than myself in the dress. It's funny because the dress I chose was everything I thought I didn't want - strapless, mermaid, and all lace. But the consultant convinced me to try it on and I'm glad she did! I didn't cry or anything - I don't think women should put so much pressure on themselves to cry, that totally takes the fun out of it - but I absolutely loved it and none of the other 40 dresses or so I tried on after that really compared.

View Quoted Comment It definitely helps to be less picky when dress shopping! I looove simple/plain gowns - they look so elegant! I feel like the lace/beading/sequins/etc can sometimes distract away from the person wearing the dress. It's definitely easy to become overwhelmed when dress shopping, I agree that spending too much time looking for a dress can make the process exhausting. Congratulations on finding your dream dress!

YES! You and me have very similar thoughts! When I tried on the dresses that had all the lace/beading/extra tulle/sequins etc etc it 100% distracted me (not in a good way!) It was just to much going on and way too much to process if that makes sense lol! Once I tried on my simple/elegant gown I knew that was the one for me!

My dress consultant recommended not trying on too many dresses. She said that many brides that do try on several dresses makes the process SO much harder! She recommended finding a few different styles with different textures that were in my price range (she suggested 4) I chose 6 but it still worked, in helping me find my dress!

1 shop, tried on 4 dresses. The dress that I went in for I loved; they pulled others that I thought I would like with similar styles; different detailing. I settled on the 4th dress after 2 other visits because I couldn’t decide between dress #1 and dress #4.

One. And found my dress in under an hour.

It's crazy how it's the styles you think you won't like sometimes end up being the perfect dress for you. There are so many beautiful dress choices out there, trying on too many makes it almost impossible to narrow it down to just one dress. But, it's crazy how you just know it's your dress once you put it on!
