How many dresses did you try on before saying "yes?"

I went dress shopping yesterday for the first time and found a dress I think may be "the one." My girls were there and we all loved it and thought it was glamorous and suited me... fairly simple lace sheath (not at all what I thought i was looking for!) - while plain it was classy, flattering, and had the chic sophisticated look I want. But we all agreed I should not order a dress on "day one." BM 1 was not satisfied with the service we got and felt like I didn't try on enough... and while I don't know if I agree with her, I do understand not jumping in too quick... a dress is a commitment...

so my question is how many dresses did you try on before saying yes? And did you "sleep on it" before taking the plunge? How did you know you found "the one?"

Thanks!!!

I tried 5, but only liked 4. Did all my shopping on one day
I went to David's bridal and tried three. The first one I hated but the woman insisted on me trying it for some reason. It was a ballgown with itchy illusion lace and it was heavy and not floaty flowy garden party like I told her I wanted. The other two were okay but the one i liked most was put of budget whoch the consultant completely ignored my budget, so I moved on.
I went to a local shop that same afternoon. They had a designer I liked, Watters. I immediately felt upon walking in that everything they had would be too expensive but i found my dream dress there, only 100$ out of budget. They were amazing and accommodating and didnt make me try on anything I didn't like. The consultant was amazing and didnt make me feel any less of a bride for my size. I bought my dream dress that day!
I only took my mom, and I'm glad that I did. There's no problem finding your first dress the first day. I had no idea I would, but the one i found was perfect so why would I keep looking? That's how I felt about it.

This is the dress and I have no regrets. If you found your dream dress go get It! But I understand why you would be hesitant. Make sure you're sure before you buy!

I tried on about 50 dresses. The dress I purchased was the last one I tried on, but had I not trusted my consultant and tried it on I still would have been searching after that!

I went shopping for the first time yesterday! Had two appointments. The 5th dress at the first place I tried. I went to another appointment after, but ended up deciding the dress at the first salon was "the one".

I tried on about 20-25 dresses in three different appointments. I started at David's Bridal and loved one there that I first saw online. But, I still wanted to keep looking. I had a great experience at the second salon I went to, but didn't really love any of the dresses I tried on there. At the third place I went, the attendant was just so awesome and they had such a big selection of dresses in my size that it was a really great experience.

I liked some of the dresses there, but wound up trying on one that I didn't necessarily like on the hanger, but something about it kept me thinking about it. I tried it on and loved it before I even looked in the mirror.

I tried on a few others again, but realized that was the one. I wanted my dad to see it though, and he had shoulder surgery the next day, so it took us about two weeks to go back, try it on again and buy it.

I'm certainly not the norm but after being super picky it took me 11 stores and I probably tried at least 10 dresses at all but the last store. I ended up at kleinfeld and spending more than I wanted but it's absolutely perfect! I just knew. I started crying, which isn't like me. I also didn't want to take it off. Don't settle till you find the one and believe me you will just know!

The first time I went shopping I found my dress. I tried on maybe 6 and they all got better each time. I then picked my favorite 2 and my dress I just knew it was the one. Although the second choice was a really great runner up.

I tried on 8 and ended up getting the 3rd one, because I kept comparing each consecutive dress to it. I figured if I kept thinking about it then it was probably the one!

I didn't count ( I honestly don't even remember all of them). But I went to 2 salons and overall I think I tried on less than 15 dresses. "My dress" was the second one I tried on at the second salon. I tried on a few after that to make sure but I pretty much had a feeling about it from the moment the bridal consultant had sent me a picture of it the day prior.

It was the 5th one I tried on at my first appointment. I definitely wasn’t expecting to find my dress that day, but I did!

I think I had gone 4 different appointments. I knew what shape I wanted after the first appointment (DB) were i found a very fun dress. I really liked it, but kept looking. I knew it was always a good "backup" dress in case I couldn't find anything else, and it was much cheaper then other options. On my 4th appointment, it was at a boutique who's prices were higher then the other ones I had visited. I went in there thinking I wouldn't buy anything because I didn't want to spend the money. I joked with the consultant at the beginning that I was so indecisive, but that I was at the point where I was ready to buy the next dress that looked good. We tried on a few and I wasn't really feeling any of them. She then pulled a 2-piece dress (yeah, right I thought). But I tried it on and it rally looked chic and classy. It was like 2 times the cost of the DB one, but I face timed with my mom and she loved it, so i bought it then and there!

So it was the first dress I tried on! When I put it on, I knew! However, I wanted to try on others just to make sure; the woman said if you compare other dresses to it, it’s the one and when you find a dress that doesn’t compare, you’ve moved on.

After five other dresses, I just stopped and looked back at the first dress and said I wanted to try the first one back on. I started crying again and KNEW (again haha).

I tried on a handful of dresses but definitely no more than 10. I went in expecting to just get a feel for what I wanted and got my dress. I didn't sleep on it, I just went for it. Haven't regretted it since! I even went in to try it on again just to make sure and I cried all over again.

I was very similar! I feel in love with the 2nd dress I tried on but I kept looking just in case. I'm very picky so I couldn't believe I found one so soon. I tried on about 10 dresses. I waited a few days before I ordered my dress just to be sure.
