How many dresses did you try on before saying "yes?"

I went dress shopping yesterday for the first time and found a dress I think may be "the one." My girls were there and we all loved it and thought it was glamorous and suited me... fairly simple lace sheath (not at all what I thought i was looking for!) - while plain it was classy, flattering, and had the chic sophisticated look I want. But we all agreed I should not order a dress on "day one." BM 1 was not satisfied with the service we got and felt like I didn't try on enough... and while I don't know if I agree with her, I do understand not jumping in too quick... a dress is a commitment...

so my question is how many dresses did you try on before saying yes? And did you "sleep on it" before taking the plunge? How did you know you found "the one?"

Thanks!!!

I tried on a bunch probably like 8 at one store and the last one I really really loved but I had another appointment that day so I went to the other one and tried on probably 5 more dresses but kept thinking about the other dress I really loved. So we decided I would wait a week and go back to the store and try it on again. I knew instantly it was the one that time. I felt like a beautiful bride and I cried. It was amazing.

I went to one store, tried on maybe 5-6? The last one she gave me was "the one." I put it on hold, paid a deposit and thought about it for awhile. Most people I talked to said it was the one, and if I did go somewhere else, I would only compare any other dresses to that one. I went back and paid it off a few months later!

Tried on 3 and found my dress! Started immediately after getting engaged. Took 5-6 months to come in. I’m so happy with it

I tried on 6 and none of the dresses made me feel the way I did in the second dress. I went home and two days later after looking at other dresses online nothing else caught my eye and that dress spoke to my soul. I started my payment plan two days later to get my dress. No regrets. Do with what you feel inside.

Very first dress at the very first shop I went to is the one I chose. Tried on 3 more after that first but went right back to the first one. The dress put me in tears. I know its the one because I cant stop thinking about it.

I don't think there's a set number, it's just when it feels right. I found mine after trying on only 7. When I saw myself wearing it in the mirror I had the feeling "this is amazing, I don't want to try on anything else."

I tried on about 6 or 7, I looked so many online before I started shopping. I didnt sleep on it. Honestly, I got a feeling and kept comparing the other dresses to the one.

I tried on a total of 8. My dress was the 2nd one I tried on! I had done a ton of research before going shopping though! I knew I wanted a certain designer, and found a shop that sold that line, and by luck they were having a preview trunk show of 2018 dresses. I knew I wanted strapless, small sweetheart neckline, and tulle, with a corset back. I went with my Mom, FMIL, and my FSILs. I also had in the back of my mind, that I did not want to settle and that it was ok to walk away, but then I put on dress #2 and I loved it!! Everyone else loved it too! It was also not what I was expecting. It has straps, a deep sweetheart neckline, and buttons! lol but it did have the tulle and beading I wanted! It scared me that I had found it already, so I tried on 6 more, and nothing compared to that dress! I love it, and can't wait to put it on again!

My dress was the third dress I had ever tried on, but I tried on about 15 before coming back to it. It was perfect, but I had to be certain. I didn’t sleep on it. We knew right away that that was my dress and put a down payment on it.

I had major anxiety and I tried on maybe two dozen gowns. I always thought poofy and sparkling was a bride but knew I wanted lace. I tried on gowns I pinned on pinterest and they didn't look great. Even with the gown I chose, I didn't have a moment or cry but when I tried it on for my fitting this past weekend I felt better knowing my choice was good. I had nightmares the week I put down money for the dress. It's all about what makes you feel good.

I had found on a dress the first try too and I just knew it was the one I wanted but I promised myself I would go to multiple stores and I'm glad I did because I found my dream dress at the 4th place! Follow your gut and honestly, the dress will still be there if you keep looking and don't find anything.

The very first one. I went dress shopping with my mom just to look and get a feel for what I want. I knew it was the one when I saw it hanging up, before I even put it on. When I did try it on and saw myself wearing it, I was a goner. My dress also wasn't what I thought I was looking for but ended up being the one in the end. Kind of like my FH lol.

I tried on about 10-12 dresses, over two appointments in different salons.
