How many dresses did you try on before you found your wedding dress? Do you wish you had looked at more dresses before you made your decision?

I went to one store and tried on about 7 dresses. I think it was the 6th dress that I fell in love with. I tried on the 7th, and compared it to the 6th dress. I put it back on and decided to buy it! I've avoided looking at any other dresses since then. It doesn't really even matter to me if I did see another dress I liked online because I'm totally one of those people that has to see it on myself before knowing that it looks good on me or not.

I think I tried on about 7 or 8. The very first one I tried on my entire family said it was the one...I told them to chill the F out I still have plenty more to put on....then dress 5 came.....I instantly got a feeling when I looked at myself in the mirror. I loved it. Tried a couple more on and told myself I was going to try back on the 1st one and my favorite...So I put on my family's favorite and they were all omg omg omg'ing....I said ehhhhh its pretty but I don't feel anything. Put me back in my favorite.....Got back in it and I just starting crying!!!

I tried on about 20 dresses over three different appointments. I found my dress during trip #2, but wasn't ready to commit.

I tried on 5 at one salon and then the next place I went it was the first dress they pulled for me- after trying on a few more at salon #2 (a girls gotta be sure!) I made my decision!

I had 2 appts the same day, but only made it to one. I tried on about 7-8 dresses but when I put the one on I knew it. It wasn't the last one I tried on but I put it back on 3 times. Sometimes you don't need more than one trip. I'm not an indecisive person though so once I make a decision I'm happy with it. I do look at people's dresses on the dress threads here and still love mine even more. Good luck!

I think I tried on 60...I went to 5 bridal salons. You'll find it! It's fun trying on dresses. I never really got "the feeling" so don't worry if you don't. Just feel happy with your choice. Your FH will think you look beautiful no matter what you're wearing.

I tried on 12 (mainly from the same designer) and bought a dress. Two weeks later, I panicked and scheduled appointments at two other bridal salons. After trying on an additional 15 or so dresses, I found the one!

My fourth appointment, first dress I tried on. I had another dress that I kept thinking about, so I knew I could go back if I wanted to

About 30. Every store I went to I ended up liking a dress more than the store before.

My dress was the 2nd or 3rd I tried on but I didn't buy it then. I really loved it but had tried on very early at a Maggie trunk show and was working on losing weight so didn't want to order yet. I also wanted to be sure. 5 appointments and 25+ dresses later, I ended up with the first one I fell in love with.

I bought one at the first appointment that I thought I loved! My mom went with me and we didn't take any pics. I went back with FMIL to get pics of me in the dress, got home and looked at the pics and HATED it!!!

Word of advice: Don't forget to take pics!

On a good note, I vented to my dad about how stressed I was and he told me not to worry, go pick out whatever I want and he will pay the difference! So I'm going tomorrow too! Unfortunately it's too late to order something so I will have to buy off the rack. (Also lucky the dress shop owner will credit me for the dress I already bought.)

    Happy shopping!!!

I tried on maybe 3 or 4, but the first dress was the one. Trust yourself! According to you, you have good taste! Smiley winking

I only tried on 2 or 3 at each place I was looking - maybe 10-12 total dresses across 5-6 stores. One bridal shop I didn't try on any because the lady came to ask if I needed help, but didn't really seem like she wanted to assist. I asked if she had anything with a little sleeve and she was just like "Nope" and walked away. So I left. I guess you could say the number of dresses I tried on was equivalent to the sales person's attitude.

I went to one store, and tried on probably 15 dresses. Some the consultant pulled for me (including the one I wound up picking), and some my mom and I pulled. The one I picked was the second or third to last I tried. My mom said she knew it was the one when I came out of the dressing room and she saw the smile I had on. I knew it was the one when I looked in the mirror and didn't see a single thing I would change- every other dress I had something, major or minor, that I wished was different about the dress.

I do think it's important to try on a variety of styles/silhouettes- you may either find something you really like that you didn't expect, or it will confirm that the one you pick is the best. I tried on everything from 3 big lace ballgowns to 2 beaded sheath and 2 mermaids, to around 8 that matched the original "look" I wanted- something simple, soft, and romantic. After trying on the other styles, when I finally put on the first dress that matched what I originally had in mind, I felt like it really was right for me, compared to the other styles. I didn't pick that specific dress, but it helped me narrow down and confirm what I was really looking for.

I tried on probably around 15 or so, but my dress was the 5th or 6th that was the comparison dress to all the dresses I tried on after, that's how I knew it was the one Smiley smile

I had planned to LOVE dress shopping-- I love lace a frills, and have dreamed about my wedding dress for years-- but in the end, crawling in and out of those HUGE, heavy dresses (I totally went princess/ball gown) was exhausting. I think I went to three shops over two weekends and tried on 20. Then they were all blurring into 'big white dress' so I went back and bought the only one that stood out, which was the second one I tried on. No regrets at all. One key to NOT having regrets is to STOP LOOKING once you buy yours. Of course, if you have time, you could just make a note of this one and keep looking.
