How many favors?

Alyssa, on December 5, 2019 at 5:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hi all!
My fiance and are trying to come up with favors for our wedding next year and want to take advantage of some of the cyber week sales that are still happening. We have our guest list so we know pretty much how many people are invited. The problem is, we haven’t sent out our invitations yet so we don’t know how many people are actually coming. Obviously we don’t want to way over order but we don’t want to come up short either. Any tips on how many we should order?

It depends on the favor, but typically all your guests won't take a favor. We had two favors, a wine bottle stopper with the Colorado mountains on it and a lace bag of lavender potpourri with our names on the ribbon (this was also the favor at my parent's wedding). We had 1 per person, and had almost no wine stoppers left and had about 30% of the potpourri bags left. That ended up working out for us, our parents wanted multiple favors for saving & so did we Smiley smile

It depends on the favor. Some would be distributed per guest and some per household. We gave blankets as favors and ordered enough for one per household, knowing that some people wouldn't take one. We also did koozies and ordered enough for 75% of our guests.

At this point without knowing who is coming for sure you have to plan around 100% attendance. While it is true that some people may not come, you can't count on that. Some couples end up having 100% attendance. At my first wedding I had everyone except one couple come.

I agree with PP, it really depends on what the favors are. We’re doing sparkler send off so we’re creating personalized matchboxes. It’s only $12 for 50 so we’re buying 3 packs because we rather have more than not enough, but if it’s more than $2 per favor I would say to wait it out
