How many fittings did you have?

Jaimie, on September 26, 2021 at 10:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Hey y’all I was just wondering how many fittings you had if you had to add a forest backing. I ordered my dress a year ago and now it’s too small 😅

One. And they just shortened the dress and took in the drop sleeve thing. Good to go.

2-3 should get it done. You can change dresses by 2 sizes. As long as you are still on that range all is good!!! Hang in there!!!

Oh my gosh, I wish this was true! I put on 20lbs during covid (1 whole dress size) and was told by my seamstress that my dress cannot be let out AT ALL. I will have to lose 15-20 lbs or find a new dress 😩

Omg. Who is the designer? Shame on them!! I will say - get a second opinion. I was told the same thing for my original covid dress - then found out that another seamstress would do it. And did.

It’s a Willowby dress. There is literally zero seam allowance. And she said it would even be difficult to take it in and maintain the look/integrity of the dress. So apparently you better order the right size and stay that size LOL

I've had two so far and expect at least another two, but they are doing quite a lot - tightening the straps, adding sleeves, adding extra tulle underneath, hemming, taking the waist in, bustling.

I have had two have one left next week my wedding is Oct 23rd, and I forgot to ask about a underskirt and it's to late to add one 🙃. I'm hoping I fit in it. Hope you are able to figure things out.

My 3rd fitting is this Wednesday and then the next one should be to pick it up and take it home, if no further adjustments are needed.

Following this post. My dress will be here about 9 months before the wedding and I'm curious when I'll need to do fittings

I would do them as soon as you can. We bought my dress 6 months before the wedding. We had a short engagement. And did get to start altering until 3 months before the wedding.
